Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan

Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan is a beautiful tropical resort with immaculate grounds and one of the friendliest, most welcoming staffs I’ve experienced. The property truly feels like a tropical escape. The beach isn’t a traditional sandy beach, as there are rocks when entering the water, but it’s still beautiful, and I enjoyed seeing tropical fish while swimming. The resort has several restaurants, although the food was somewhat hit or miss. I wanted to give this resort five stars, but a few things held it back. Service was usually excellent, but there were times when it was difficult to get someone’s attention to order food or drinks. The rooms were also noisier than expected. I could hear the air conditioner, neighboring villa doors, and occasional music from nearby. The villa was nice and comfortable, but I would have appreciated a comfortable chair or small couch. My room overlooked a nicely landscaped garden, but beyond that was just a wall. The location is very secluded. There isn’t anything within walking distance, so you’ll need a taxi to go anywhere. The surrounding neighborhood is much more modest than the resort itself. The gym yoga mats were worn and should be replaced or cleaned more regularly. I also found the spa to be overpriced for the experience. Overall, it’s a beautiful resort with wonderful staff that could easily earn five stars with a few improvements.

Great place way better then Shangrala

From the moment we stepped foot onto this resort the whole team at the Crimson made us feel welcomed with their hospitality. The whole property, from the lush, green, tropical grounds being well kept and beautifully manicured, to our beautiful room being immaculately clean, and with our linens smelling fresh, and a stocked bar with welcome goodies, snacks and drinks, we were blown away with this place! The team at the Crimson take hospitality to a whole other level! We snorkeled at the beach here a saw lots of beautiful fish. We enjoyed our time in the beautiful Infiniti pool and had so much fun trying the foods at the restaurants here at the Crimson. I recommend eating at the Azure Beach Club, it’s a whole vibe in itself with outstanding service! Also the Breakfast Buffet is so delicious, I see why they have earned their Michelin stars, sooooo delicious! I have nothing but amazing things to rave about the Crimson from a quick and easy check in, to WiFi being fast, to the whole team being very accommodating and allowing us a late check out when we were leaving Cebu. I will definitely be back soon!!

Crimson Spa & Resort is a great place to stay and enjoy some downtime. The rooms are clean and spacious, the bedding was clean and very comfortable. The grounds are well maintained with a natural flora theme. The pool is clean and refreshing with a beautiful view of the ocean. AKA restaurant features traditional Japanese selections that are delicious and wonderfully plated, some of the best Japanese food I have had. Breakfast at the Saffron was a surprising change from the typical hotel buffet. It featured a wide selection from traditional Filipino to Western selections and the pastries were a feast for the eyes as well. Staff was very friendly and welcoming, we were always greeted warmly and respectfully from the groundskeepers to the front desk, all of them were willing to help make our stay memorable. The airport shuttle service is on-site, prompt and courteous, about 20 minutes to Mactan-Cebu Intl. Only issue I experienced was the shower in our room did not have hot water. The sink and tub did, I think it was an issue in that room only as our companions' rooms did have hot showers. I didn't mention it to staff as it was late and having already spent several weeks in Bohol, Panglao I was used to "cold" showers. When we return next year, I plan on at least two nights at Crimson to experience the amenities in more detail.

Wonderful

Staff were very attentive to our needs, welcoming and always smiling, rooms are clean, it was wonderfully quiet, the pool was wonderful and not crowded at all, and the food was delightful! I would definitely recommend this resort!

Infinity pool is amazing to bob around in and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. The food throughout the 4 restaurants on site i cannot fault. Great weekend away and would definitely recommend staying here and infant two more days would be perfect.

The room is very clean, staff were amazing , breakfast is incredible and outdoor pool is great. I would highly recommend this to our friends and we'll back again on our next vacation.

Breakfast is the best. Staff is great. I went last year woth friends during Lunar, and I just had to take my family there this time.

Great property. Some gaps in Vegetarian food availability and quality. But amazing property in general.

It feels more like a boutique resort that seeks to personalise the experience for guests. My other half and I came away with a beautiful embossed stetson hat and embossed sluppers from staying in a beautifully decorated room with a spacious bathroom. Furthermore the food was superb and the wine selection great from the restaurants, recommended by the sommelier. They did run out of our favourite bottle but put this down to us ordering way to many bottles. Full stars for this resort.

We expected a true 5-star experience but were very disappointed. The staff is kind and smiling, but that’s where the positives end. At check-in, we were asked to pay a significant deposit. At checkout, the items we consumed were not deducted from that deposit — we had to pay everything again on top. One week later, we are still waiting for the refund. Not acceptable for a supposed 5-star hotel. We were asked what time we wanted housekeeping (surprising for a luxury property). We said 3 PM, yet the next morning we were woken up at 10 AM. Walls are paper-thin, so expect noise from neighboring rooms too. Half of the menu items were unavailable — vegetarian options and certain drinks shown on menu simply “not available.” Food choice is limited, with nothing healthy. The terrace area with the nice couches shown online was half closed without explanation. Sun beds have no proper mattresses, uncomfortable for a full day. The beach is very small and clearly artificial — far from what the pictures suggest. On our last day, we were told there was no guaranteed airport transfer due to “no driver available.” After insisting, a solution suddenly appeared. We left five days earlier than planned, and no one from staff bothered to ask us why!! Clearly not a real 5-star property. Manage your expectations.
