It presents as a high end hotel, but there were so many basic things missing. A fridge. Accessible plugs. Air conditioning? These would have been great and to be honest, they’re essential at a hotel that presents as luxurious. The bed was hard and the room we stayed in - which faces towards Byres Road - had little to no ventilation and a terrible view towards a car park. Stains on carpets and furniture. The bedding seemed to also be inside out. Very strange hotel that’s far from what you’d expect these days. The faded Hilton sign says it all. If you want stay in the west end, go elsewhere.

I have stayed at the Glasgow Grosvenor over the last four years. For what it is, it has become very expensive and the quality of the room was not reflected in this. Small and dingy. Overall, I think the hotel has become tired looking and needs a refresh to make it brighter overall.

Bed was awful, I kept rolling out! The staff were snooty and not friendly. The location is great, the hotel is clean except for the weird “fall candle” smell on the 2nd floor, the rooms are pretty. Not a terrible, just average. Highly recommend Salty’s chips and pizza down the street for food, service was awesome and food was good and plentiful.

It’s faded and tired. It’s advertised as being on special at £67 then vat is added then parking is added at £10 . No breakfast for this price and it’s tired. I remember stay there in the early 80’s when it was “the place” it’s suffering . The rooms don't have USB C or 3 phone chargers and the circuit tripped when I plugged in my charger .

There was nothing I liked about the property. Broken tiles in the bathroom noise from the lifts all night. Went to use the iron provided and on a white shirt for a wedding it left a dirty black mark. I complained to reception and they said they would get a manager to call me. I'm still waiting. If your thinking about staying there id think again not value for money

The service was mediocre at best, then NO hot water in morning, when we called first time said their was no issue, no one else had a problem, told to run the water until it got hot, 10 minutes later called again different person acknowledged the hotel did not have hot water, manger was going to reset the hot water tank, called back 15 minutes later, told they did not have a solution, did not offer any help.

This hotel was a disappointment. Despite having a rule that the service elevators cannot be used after 6pm, we heard it being used repeatedly between 6-11pm every night. I called reception repeatedly and they were (mostly) apologetic, but didn't seem to be able to do anything about it and the information received by the different receptionists was never the same. Management and the night porters were claiming that the elevators were not being used, which was a complete lie, especially as the receptionist at checkout specifically said that a lot of people were complaining about the noise. A bit of customer gaslighting there. Really not impressed with this hotel and wouldn't recommend it if you want a good night sleep.

I’m writing this because my wife was deeply disappointed by our stay at the Grosvenor Hotel in Glasgow during our first trip to Scotland. The trip was especially meaningful to her because her granny was from Glasgow, and she had been excited for months. Unfortunately, the hotel did not match the advertising. We later realized there seem to be two very different sides to the property. One side appears elegant and grand, while the side we were placed in felt more like a tired motel. Our room overlooked rubbish bins and a car park. We arrived close to midnight after a long flight and didn’t fully notice the room until the next morning, when it felt too late to request a move. The disappointment wasn’t just the room itself. Several basic amenities didn’t function properly. The television stations never worked, the WiFi constantly cut in and out, the bed was extremely hard, and the pillows were uncomfortable. To be fair, the hot water was excellent, the breakfast was enjoyable, and the neighbourhood itself was vibrant. Still, it was difficult seeing how upset my wife became because she had hoped this part of our Scotland trip would feel special. Instead, waking up to that dreary view was genuinely depressing. If you stay here, make sure you are very clear about which side of the hotel and what type of room you are booking, because the advertising did not reflect the reality of our experience.

Overpriced basic room. Paid £200 per night for deluxe room, got a small room with just a double bed, tiny bathroom. Hot water took 10mins to come through. Not even a bottle of water in the room. Only 2 lifts for big hotel and 1 was faulty and doors wouldn’t open. Took staff 24hrs to put lift out of order, and then we had to use stairs as too many guests. Staff on reception have no interest in complaints, I guess they are used to it, didn’t even ask how my stay was when I checked out- don’t care. Lovely ladies working in breakfast room was the only consolation. Great location, tired and disappointing hotel, won’t be staying here again and I’m not even fussy. Highly not recommended.

I got a small double room which was fine. The carpet in the room wasn't the cleanest, the bed was extremely hard, and the pillows were very stiff. The next morning we went down to look at the breakfast and they didn't have a lot on offer but some people would probably have been fine with the breakfast. My biggest complaint was the service elevator. Our room was right next to it and starting at 7am, it made this super loud horrible noise which kept waking us up. Maybe if someone had a room far away from that it would be a good hotel, but we left tired and went and got breakfast elsewhere
