Museum Semedo offers a unique perspective as the only museum located in a free forest area in Tegal, Central Java. Featuring impressive collections such as fossils of Homo erectus, Gigantopithecus blacki, and Stegodon pygmy semedoensis, as well as various artifacts, the museum serves as an important center for prehistoric education and research. With a thoughtful arrangement of exhibits, the Semedo Museum reveals the evolution of the local environment, people and culture, combining modern design with deep historical richness. Operating since October 2022 on an area of 10,582 square meters and housing around 8,000 biological and geological specimens, the museum faces the challenge of ever-increasing visitor capacity.
