The current global pandemic has caused us all to be grounded. It has redefined a new normal for us, a new way of doing things and living our lives. As domestic air travel resumes and we approach the recovery MCO phase here in Malaysia, we begin to reclaim spaces while we gradually regain the freedom to move — and we honestly can’t be happier. However, before proceeding to book that flight back home or to that quick getaway destination, it is important to know how airport and airline procedures have changed, to be better prepared and to guard our safety. Here we have listed all the preparations you need to make and things to expect before flying and traveling in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia.
For KLIA 1, only passengers with a valid flight ticket and boarding pass will be allowed to enter. Family members or friends of the passenger who are not traveling are not allowed into the airport.
For KLIA 2, the public will only be allowed in up to the gateway@klia2 shopping mall. All visitors will be required to wear a face mask and have their body temperature checked before being allowed in.
