Kertajati International Airport (KJT) is in Kertajati, in the Majalengka Regency of West Java, Indonesia. It lies between Bandung and Cirebon and serves the wider province, including Greater Bandung and Cirebon. Locally it goes by BIJB, short for Bandara Internasional Jawa Barat, or West Java International Airport. Passengers use one terminal. Bandung also has its own city airport, Husein Sastranegara (BDO), which is a separate airport some distance away.
For Malaysian travellers, Kertajati is a quieter way into West Java. The scheduled service at present is Scoot's route to Singapore Changi, which you can connect to from Malaysia. The airport is also West Java's hajj embarkation point, used for pilgrims' flights to Saudi Arabia in the hajj season.
All flights use the single passenger terminal, which the airport's flight board labels T1. Check-in counters and the departure waiting area are on Floor 2. The public hall on Floor 1 has the arrivals side, the information centre and the ATMs.
The scheduled airline at Kertajati is:
Now and then Kertajati also takes flights diverted from other airports, and in the hajj season it handles pilgrims' flights. Neither is a service you can book on a normal schedule. Search your dates on Traveloka to see what is on sale, and check the terminal and time on your e-ticket.
Kertajati is outside the big cities, so most travellers continue by road. Journey times depend on traffic and where you are going. Fares are shown at the counter or by the operator.
DAMRI buses connect the airport with Bandung, Cirebon, Kuningan and Majalengka. DAMRI also runs a Bandung to Kertajati to Indramayu intermodal route. Board in the bus parking zone at the arrival terminal.
Point-to-point minibuses, known locally as travel, link the airport with places such as Bandung, Sumedang and Jatinangor. They pick up from the arrival pick-up point zone.
Taxis wait in the terminal arrival area. Agree how the fare is charged before you set off.
Coming from Bandung, the Cisumdawu toll road runs to the airport. From the Jakarta and Cirebon side, take the Cipali toll road and then the airport access toll road.
The main car park takes motorcycles, cars, buses and trucks for daily or overnight stays. It is open 24 hours and watched by CCTV. Rates are shown at the car park.
The terminal keeps its facilities simple. Here is what it offers.
A pay-per-use executive lounge sits on Floor 2 in the departure waiting area.
Floor 1 is the public hall, with the arrivals side, the information centre, ATMs and the souvenir centre. Floor 2 has the check-in counters and the departure waiting area.
Food and beverage outlets are spread through the terminal, including in the Floor 2 departure area.
The souvenir centre in the Floor 1 public hall sells West Java crafts and snacks, a handy stop for gifts on your way home.
ATM centres are in the Floor 1 public hall, in the departure area and next to the information centre. There is also a bank and a money changer at the airport.
A medical facility is available at the airport. Ask at the information centre if you need it.
Follow Scoot's check-in advice for how early to arrive, and allow extra time for the road journey, as Kertajati is a fair way from both Bandung and Cirebon. Check-in is on Floor 2.
Arriving from Singapore, you pass through Indonesian immigration and customs. Check the latest entry requirements for your passport before you travel. For updates on the day, use the Traveloka flight status page.
The fare cards on this page show fares from Kertajati for your dates. Below them, the flight schedule lists upcoming flights by date, with the airline and the departure and arrival times. Use it to see which days have a flight, then search those dates.
