Pousada Mar do Leste

Great location one block from the beach. Small grocery store right in front. Plenty of restaurants nearby.

The good things: The location is really close to the beach in a good part of the island. It's also close to walking trails and restaurants and bars. The man that works there is very friendly and helpful, he speaks English and checked me in after hours when I arrived late. Rooms are really big and well equipped with basic kitchen supplies, and priced very reasonably. The not-so-good things. There was a lot of noise from the street and a place next door and the rooms are not soundproof at all. The bed was really firm which I'm not a fan of. By 9:30am there was not a lot of choice left for breakfast, and there were limited options to start with. One day I asked for yoghurt (which was available other days) and the woman working there didn't understand my admittedly awful pronunciation. When she realised what I was saying she called her friend in and pointed at me and laughed repeating my pronunciation several times and mocking me as though I'm some kind of idiot. Every other person I've met has been appreciative of my attempts to speak their language, and I was shocked that someone working in hospitality would be so rude to a guest. It's unfortunate because the man who works there was so warm and welcoming - the complete opposite. (I noticed a reply to another review that said they didn't know what else could be included for breakfast. I would suggest replacing food until breakfast ends because many things run out, and including eggs and cereal and cold milk.)

We arrived at the hotel late. The gate was open, but we were too stupid to open it :) There was still a woman wondering around reception and the back of house, so she opened it for us. There is a free Wi-Fi and parking (I think also free). The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the beach in a nice little village. There are a lot of surfers when wheat her is appropriate, some fishing and some very relaxed locals wondering around. The atmosphere seems easy going with a scent of "green" being consumed here and there :). You will need to get 2 buses to get here from Florianopolis - do your research before you come! Otherwise prepare to ask for directions in Portuguese!

Quarto limpo e confortável, o Sr Eloi muito simpático e amigável, recebe você como uma visita em sua casa. A pousada faz costas com a praia, ótima localização da pra ir a pé, local muito seguro.

A equipe da pousada é sensacional! Quartos aconchegantes e um excelente café da manhã. Ambiente familiar e bem próximo da praia. Já fomos algumas vezes e certamente iremos mais outras!

Je suis arrivé 15 minutes après la fermeture du checkin à cause de bouchons. C’était tout fermé, sans illumination publique et le téléphone qu’ils ont fourni ne marchait pas. J’ai perdu la réserve

Fomos muito bem atendidos na pousada mar do leste, café da manhã bom, quartos sempre limpos e wifi que funciona, o proprietário sempre solicito e simpático com os clientes, procura sempre nos atender bem para nos fazer sentir em casa, próxima a praia da Barra da Lagoa e com estacionamento grátis, se tudo der certo retornarei a me hospedar nessa pousada na minha próxima viagem a Florianópolis/SC.

A experiência foi muito agradável. Elói é uma pessoa gentil, simpática e agradável. A pousada ofereceu tudo o que buscávamos para um final de semana de descanso.

O Atendimento foi ótimo durante os 3 dias que passamos na pousada. Nos sentimos a vontade e super confortáveis. A pousada possui uma estrutura muito boa para descanso. Além disso, a equipe oferece um bom café da manhã. Aproveito para agradecer pela recepção e hospitalidade do Sr. Elói, o mesmo é muito carismático e nos forneceu boas dicas para aproveitar o melhor da praia da Barra da Lagoa e dos arredores da Ilha.
