What Guests Say About Their Stay

I stayed at the hostel/hotel for one night. The facilities were clean, and the room as well. They had one communal shower area downstairs. They also had a good breakfast, which included some pizza! The people were really nice, because I was able to leave my luggage while I left on a 4-day tour to Salar de Uyuni. I retrieved my luggage no problem when I returned, and that was really cool of the staff to let me do that. The wi-fi there had very strong service, as well!

Stayed here for 6 nights and didn't want to leave! The first thing we noticed was how clean it was, especially as it's in a dusty desert! The cleaning team do a fabulous job. The hostel is a nice size, pretty peaceful (or maybe it was just quiet when we stayed), secure at night, and our private double was a good size. Pillows could be more plump and smooth but that's my only slight negative point. You can use the showers up til 10pm and they're fab, great pressure and always had hot water. You're asked to limit it to 5 mins due to being in the desert which I had no issues with :) There's a good-sized kitchen, only has a hob so no oven or microwave, but we ate out every night so it wasn't an issue. There are plenty of places and things to do in San Pedro, and this hostel is within 1 minute's walk of all the bars, shops and restaurants. Perfect! I worried about there being no air con, but did some research and air con isn't standard in San Pedro as it cools at night, so we left our windows open and it was ideal. I have to mention the WiFi, there is a strong signal all over the hostel, even in the rooms - some big city hotels we've stayed in haven't even got signal in the rooms! It really makes a difference when you're trying to research tours or your next travel move. To us, it felt more like a hotel than a hostel, there is a Hotel Corvatsch and other hotels in the area but for the price and quality we would definitely stay at Corvatsch again - I highly recommend it!

This was a perfect choice for me, traveling solo. I stayed a full week, spent part of each day sitting in the sunny courtyard reading, but also took daily excursions into the desert. I booked many of them through Corvatsch and while there are shops around town that may be somewhat cheaper, the efficiency and ease of doing it almost all through them was worth the only slightly added expense. The room was cozy, clean and comfortable, bathrooms very clean, hot water, fresh towels. I found all of the staff to be very friendly, many of them English-speaking, helpful at problem-solving. And being right in town but just on the edge made it both super convenient and very quiet. Great choice!

Arrived late but not told about shower location... no fan or A/C in room, so very stuffy... no trash bin in room... no hand rails.on stairs or showers... all would be forgiven but for terrible argument trying to get car out when leaving- would not help by moving 4x4 blocking me in.

Stayed at this hotel 3 nights during our stay in San Pedro De Atacama. The hotel is in good location to the main Street where the restaurants are which is the only good about this hotel. The staff made the check in process diffult after a very long travel time we were told that we couldn't check in till 3pm when we had arrived around 11am. This was fine as we knew this through the booking but it was unfortunately the manner in which we were told this. Like many hotels/hostels we were informed check in wasn't till later but many said that they would do their best to get the room ready. The room was a very small triple single bed room. The bedding was not clean as the sheets and pillow covers were covered in unusual stains. I pulled out some of the furniture to find plugs and the dust and dirt was revolting and totally unacceptable. There was one plug in the entire room which then became very difficult when three people needed to charge their phone. This meant that we had to stay up later to charge our devices. The shared shower room was also much to be desired. The toilets were unclean and one of the showers was off in the ladies. 2 showers for the hotel was not ideal.

No room fans in the Hostal or towels but they did give us a couple after we asked. Expensive for shared bathrooms but it is a touristy hip backpacker place with expensive food, etc. Take the geyser tour as it is amazing. Lots of wildlife, more flamingos than the flamingos reserve tour. No fan,or air condition in Hostal. Upstairs is hot in the day.

The rooms: austere, with literally no comforting touches. No towels, no lamps, no a/c, barely reachable wifi. You can’t even get breakfast if you offer to pay for it through the adjoined hotel. The advertising: dishonest. Don’t believe them when they say they have free parking. I had to park my rental car across the street for $10000 pesos a night. The staff: inconsiderate. We had one particularly bad night of the 3 we stayed there. It was New Year’s Eve, and our room overlooked the courtyard. There was a group of gentleman immediately below our room having a wonderful and loud time with alcohol (this was expected by us because of new year’s, but the rules set by the hostal clearly state no alcohol allowed on the property). At the same time, we had a very long travel day, my wife was pregnant, and we just needed to sleep. We also felt entitled to peace and quiet as paying guests, and given that big parties could easily be found a few blocks away in town, we didn’t think it unreasonable to ask the staff to enforce the rules. Despite asking the gentlemen to be quiet directly, and speaking to the staff, THE STAFF proceeded to drink alcohol themselves and set up a loud speaker blaring music after we politely complained. It took my wife sobbing at 2am for them to turn down the music. The bathrooms: yuck! Barely any privacy, and not cleaned frequently enough.

I had a pleasant stay for 6 nights. Thank you to Roxanna who booked my tours and informed me each day my pick up times. The hostel was clean and staff were friendly. Got water in the showers and very close to the main centre of town and in walking distance of the bus terminal. Only criticism is no towels provided nor a bin in the room. Excellent fast WiFi.

Don't expect much from a hostal - this place though - don't have the most simple necessities, like towels or a hand dryer in the restrooms or more than two knifes in the kitchen. Staff was friendly though, and the Wifi is good. Theres a lot of places to stay in San Pedro De Atacama - also cheap places that give you alt least the bare necessities.
