Sofitel Haikou

I stayed at Sofitel Haikou for a business trip and was thoroughly impressed. The hotel offers a perfect blend of luxury and functionality, ideal for business travelers. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with a comfortable work desk and high-speed Wi-Fi. The staff were courteous, professional, and attentive to every detail. The breakfast buffet had a great variety of both Western and local options, which was a great way to start the day. Meeting facilities were top-notch, and the location was convenient for accessing the business district. After work, I appreciated the relaxing atmosphere at the lounge and the stunning ocean views. Highly recommend Sofitel Haikou for business travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and excellent service.

My stay at Sofitel Haikou was exceptional as always. The rooms are high-tech, spotless, and very well maintained. It's a perfect blend of comfort and modern luxury. The staff are friendly, professional, and always ready to go the extra mile. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the service team on duty on 11 November 2025(around 9am–10am) for kindly arranging an early check-in and sending our luggages to our room within 10 mins. We had an early flight into Haikou and my mum was tired, so the thoughtful gesture was deeply appreciated. I also want to thank the service team on duty on 12 November (between 10am–12 noon). After checking out, I accidentally left my bag at the hotel, and the staff were incredibly helpful and efficient in locating it for me. Every experience at Sofitel Haikou has been nothing short of excellent. Thank you to the entire team for your warm hospitality and impeccable service. You truly made our stay memorable! Sofitel Haikou will definitely be my number 1 choice when I return to Haikou.

This is the newest hotel in Haikou and opened during the pandemic period. Had high expectations as I last visited in 2018 and this was still building and I stay at nearby Hilton Haikou. A few issues we had which is why we gave 3-star rating: 1. The hotel’s main lobby and breakfast at all day dining area was located at 35th and 34th floor respectively but the rooms are located at lower levels… very odd planning 2. The corridor way from lift lobby to rooms are designed using dark colors… makes it feel narrow and not so welcoming as we walked to our room. 3. Was on 24th floor also and some hotel guests smoking in their rooms even though it’s a non-smoking hotel and these inconsiderate guests left they room doors open allowing cigarette smoke to flow into corridor way. 4. I saw a couple of times housekeeping team passed by and nothing was done over the course of my 3D2N stay… therefore the 4-star ratings on staff service 5. While the hotel is only 3 years old and factoring the pandemic, condition of property pales in comparison to Hilton Haikou which we went over for dinner on 1 of the night during our stay. The next time we visit Haikou, unlikely we will stay at this hotel again… I have severe allergies issue and the cigarette smell given it’s central air conditioning gave me quite a bit of issue during my stay.
