The location of the hotel is suburb. The hotel is lovely but does need an update, ie. a lick of paint etc. The room was nice and clean, the bar area and restaurant were lovely, breakfast was nice and fresh and the views from the terrace were amazing. Overall we had a wonderful 3 day break! Would definitely come back!!

My wife and I had the best time. We celebrated for her 40th birthday and Sandbanks itself is the best place, the hotel is the best location, the beach is a few metres away and the ferry is also a few metres away. Highly recommend this hotel, the perfect location and the staff were brilliant too. Thank and hope to be back soon

Our room was very nice ( a suite ) and very well presented and clean. Staff were generally pleasant and did sort out the problems we encountered during our stay to the best of their ability. Breakfast was chaotic and not very well organised, tables not re-set, items missing and not replaced, had to keep asking for certain things. The first few days the dinner menu was poor but they then presented a better menu with more choice towards the end of our week but the website shows it differently. A superb location for the beach and walks. Unfortunately the hotel inside pool needs refurbishment so not too pleasant to swim in at the moment. Generally the hotel needs updating in certain areas.

Stayed for one night over the weekend. The staff were helpful and attentive and the hotel is in a fabulous location which is reflected in the price, however probably once a prestigious high end hotel in its time, the property now appears tired and unloved. Having paid for breakfast in the price of the room we felt let down by the standard provided. Expectations were for a fresh hot cooked breakfast, however it was a self-service buffet style, full of choice but all served cold. We had expected tea and coffee table service yet this was also self service from a machine.

The location was very good for a quiet break & watching the chair ferry and other boats from the restaurant was interesting. The very small lift was not very reliable for those who needed it & took a number of goes to get it to work when leaving with our cases. The ‘courtyard’ view from our room was into the inner part of the hotel & was quite noisy when bottles were being disposed of. There was a limited menu in the restaurant which was the same all week. We only managed to find a couple of nearby places to eat, neither of which were within comfortable walking distance. The hotel itself is clean & comfortable & the staff were friendly.

I chose a budget room which was £144 per night. I stayed two nights over the Bank Holiday heatwave . There was a brick wall outside my window and only two of the windows would open a maximum of 3 inches. The bathroom window did not open and the fan was not working. It was wretched in the heat. You have to have the light on to see even in daylight. I was given a very basic fan . I asked to change my room the next day. It was inhumane to expect anyone to be in a room with no ventilation in that heat. I was told I could only go to the same room above mine with the same brick wall. I was offered a Dyson fan, taken from someone else’s room, but although it said it blew cold air there was none. The fire alarm went off 3 times the first night and at 4.40 in the morning the whole hotel was evacuated for an hour. It was a fault in the alarm system, a false alarm. I thought the swimming pool was lovely for the children . The breakfast was poor,if you didn’t eat cooked things. The cereal choices were mimimalist . Lunch was £16 a panini which wasn’t even that good, and the service was slow, considering they were ready made. A glass of wine was an eye watering £9 No I would not recommend this very tired hotel although the staff appeared to do their best . My sink was not cleaned and my toiletries not replaced after my first night. So I had to ask for these Very disappointed indeed.

Very disturbing and dangerous protocol at this hotel. During our first night we had 3 fire alarms go off. 11.40pm 11.50pm and 4.50 am. During the first two no evacuation was carried out, staff were not correctly trained, fire panel was showing as disabled yet staff felt it was still safe. General manager refused to come to the hotel that evening. We kept being told there was no issue and the sensor had been removed ( this is not normal practice) but then another alarm triggered in the morning clearly not same sensor as had been removed. Therefore something was not right. 45 minutes to take a roll call was far too long. Fire brigade were told it was an issue with the panel this could not be proved and they didn’t come. Smoke and ashes were smelt on the second floor - then we found out there had been a fire the week before. The whole experience showed a lack of care, staff more concerned about following their ludicrous protocol - which is not to evacuate when the alarm goes off, also felt like staff were more concerned for their jobs. People did not want to go back in and slept in cars!! View is amazing but for me not worth the above, needs serious overhaul including bathroom and overall facilities but could be a real gem!

Hot tub and pool area were nice though.

The room was clean and bright despite being a budget room. The only criticism is there were no toiletries in the bathroom when we arrived and we only got some on day 2. Breakfast was OK but very short staffed. Most items ran out quickly and took a while to replenish. We have been coming to this hotel for years and noticed the decline in service this time. The one great constant was the lovely swimming pool and the lifeguard manager who is always friendly and super helpful.
