Novotel Reading Centre

Good clean quiet room, polite staff. What more do you want?

Very nice hotel. Only issue was no shampoo in bottle. Most enjoyable.

Novotel Reading is our go to hotel when staying in Reading - this was our 4th stay this year alone. Reception friendly and professional as always. Requested room at back of hotel away from Friar Street and given room 903. Smaller room than we usually have, but fine for one night. Once again couldnt get the bath to switch from shower to fill the bath - same problem as previous stay in room 1016. Staff came up to see if could be solved but couldnt - frustrating. Carpets and curtains in room very shabby and no bathrobes or bottled water as usually have. Bed comfy but room very warm even with window open and fan on. Pool lovely as always. Breakfast good choice once again. Already have a booking for next year.

Looked a little tired.

The only reason for the lower rating was the noise from the bars and disco below. Kept us up until very late. It would be much better if they had some sort of noise blocking barrier or at least a warning. We left exhausted. Otherwise the hotel was clean and nice.

Lovely clean, comfortable hotel right in the centre of Reading, only a short walk away from the train station. The bed was very comfortable (a firm mattress, as I like it). Breakfast options were abundant and the quality was excellent. Overall this place is great value for money, will definitely stay here again!

Room was clean and bed was comfy. Although the room was very hot even with the fan on and window open it felt like you were in a sauna. We had problems with the room key card. It deactivated its self 4 times in 2 days. This was a little annoying as we were staying on the 12th floor and the lifts were always busy.

Reception staff were so court and helpful Loved our executive room with the extra amenities. Comfortable bed too so got a great nights sleep

Great location and staff helpful. Room quiet but lots of flaws… bath leaked, no shower mat, toilet flush not working well, some electrical points not working

The shower was unbearably hot and appeared to be broken on that setting. There was another shower attached to the bath, but again the fixtures holding it was broken. The sink plug plunger was also disconnected and broken. I did not use the gym or pool as i had planned to and left early instead as i knew i wouldnt be able to use the shower after. Rooms are very plain and boring. Not the premium experience i was expecting. Staff are nice and friendly, however the poor maintenance really let it down.

Not sound proof rooms unfortunately, all you could hear is people outside until 4am partying.

Lovely hotel. Well located. Good facilities. Friendly staff. Clean and modern. Good value!
