Without doubt the bedroom had the creakiest floorboards, the squeakiest door hinges and the least soundproofed floor. You could hear everything in the bar below.

A lovely experience. The building is historical and beautiful and the staff warm and welcoming. Fantastic breakfast is available, but if you are having dinner, check first, for instance they don’t do dinner in the evening on Sunday. The village is also beautiful and has options for dining. The beer garden is a great space to chill out.

The Ollerod is a delightful hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful, we were shown personally to our room on arrival. The room was lovely, with a beautiful rug on the floor and fantastic bed. Incredibly comfortable. The whole hotel was very clean and everything was done to comply with new Covid rules. Unfortunately this did mean no tea in the rooms, no toiletries or hairdryer but these were available on request and we were warned ahead of our arrival so were able to make arrangements. We also had dinner in the restaurant which was superb, a good size menu and the food was excellent. Wine was reasonably priced too. Food delivery and empty plate removal was well organised with a separate table besides ours to facilitate. Plus Beaminster is a lovely village to look around and very quiet I'm sure we will be back

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in an annex room that was rather small and not very well presented. There was no a/c and fortunately the weather was warm for the time of year because there was no heating. The gardens were a real asset but needed some TLC. Overall we had a pleasant stay but the Covid situation did have an effect on the room service and breakfast choice.

We stayed in room 6 on the ground floor, a comfortable and spacious Deluxe Double with nice garden views. The room decor does look a little worn now. The bathroom would benefit from an update. The door in the corridor outside this room tends to slam, so can be annoying until everyone has gone to bed. Really good breakfast with a refreshingly simple and high quality buffet and cooked-to-order options included. Warm, friendly staff made us feel welcome. Rather expensive. We felt we were paying Central London prices for the room. The food in the restaurant also seems pricey while good quality. The highlight was the massage treatment from Lovegrove. Hannah was amazing, competent, sensitive and responsive to our needs. Quite simply the best treatment we have ever had (and good value). She was also very flexible with timing, allowing us to each have a massage on Sunday morning. If you have the chance, treat yourself! You will not regret it.
