Loved the history & character of the building. We were in the suite on the top floor so we had lots of space & loved the old beams. Lovely big comfortable bed and big towels too. Convenient location for all the sights of the Old Town. Coffee machine & kettle were welcome. We enjoyed 5senses cafe nearby for breakfast (recommended by the hotel).

The hotel is in an interesting historic building. The so called garden room was actually in an old stables, on a paved courtyard - there is no garden so the description was a little misleading. The room was large and in rustic style with old stones and beams exposed. Bed and sofa were comfortable, bathroom and shower modern and good. There was a fridge and a Nespresso machine but no kitchenette which was a surprise as the hotel calls itself an aparthotel. The restaurant was undergoing renovation so no breakfast was available. The nearest cafe was 300 meters away (in the summer there would be more options and nearer). There was also no room service and not even a drinks machine. - with nearest shops a good 800m away this was disappointing. There were too few lights so in the evening the room was very dark. No pegs were provided to hang coats (we did not want to put our wet coats in the wardrobe). Also nowhere to put wet and muddy shoes to dry. Windows had day and night curtains but no blinds which was a bit of a problem as during daytime anyone in the courtyard could see in quite clearly. One if our rooms had been changed to a different type of room without any explanation, this wasn't a problem for us but could have been for someone who needed a specific room (all the rooms were different as this is a historic building). All in all, the hotel building is beautiful and the rooms look good and are comfortable enough, but with prices double of similar ones not good value.

The hotel was easy to locate and walking distance to all the main tourist attractions. Staff communication was not the best - we arrived before check in time but, got told room will be ready in 30-60min so we went out for an hour and came back. Then got told another 15min and took another 30min for the room to get ready. If we knew then we would have just stayed out exploring the city.
