After I read some of reviews, I expected that hotel would be not very nice. It actually suprized me and my 19/21 kids. They enjoy two story room with their beds in the loft and spiral staircase that brought them upstairs. It is also interesting to be inside school like building. Parking is free and plenty. Property well maintained and there are working elevators. We had to pay additional fee for city tax in addition to what Expedia charged us.

The front desk staff were friendly. However, there is no staff in the evening and we were told to call a number if there were any problems. The rooms were nice enough considering they are dorm rooms for high school students during the academic year. We were told about the breakfast buffet by the staff and did not eat the breakfast because it seemed a little expensive for what you get. There is plenty of parking. Everything in Iceland is expensive so do not expect a lot for what you are getting.

We stayed at Edda one night in July. Parking is free, rooms are basic dormitory style: clean, comfortable beds, white/clean linen, desk and private bathroom. No black out shades or curtains so, if visiting in summer, bring eye mask. Staff was very polite and friendly. Breakfast available for a fee which we did not partake but, the dining area was clean as well. The accommodations at the Edda are basic but the price is proportional to the amenities. We would stay again.

Beds were comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. Probably should advertise that it is a dormitory type lodging so guests aren’t too surprised when they get there. Unless I missed that in the description. Even so, a great place to stay the night.

I was totally disappointed with fact of not being informed by Expedia that it was a hotel chain renting a boarding school building as a hotel for the summer. The building & the room was very basic...dorm like. Bed & table with 2 chairs. Nothing on the walls. miniature bathroom and shower, for $300 a night. Parking and access to the room was not easy or practical. I do not recommend to anyone

Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic. Staff were very friendly and professional. Property is older and has a bit of an institutional aesthetic but it is very well maintained. Amenities (restaurants, groceries, gas etc.) aren’t super close so having a car is helpful. We really enjoyed our stay here. Fit our needs perfectly.

I am conflicted on how to rate this place. It is not in my books a hotel. It is a school converted into hotels rooms in the off season trying to be a hotel. Firstly, when we drove up to it I questioned I was at the correct spot. The markings need to be clearer. There is a placard sign almost at the doors that needs to be closer to the round about. Secondly the construction on the building by the front doors and the unkempt garden beds makes the place look super sketch. We basically slept in a dorm room. Beds were ok and they gave us extra pillows. There was NO dinner. There was a breakfast buffet but we read the trip advisor comments and went elsewhere. This place has potential but needs better management or something.
