Staff at this hotel are outstanding, every single one of them makes it their mission to ensure you are happy and have what you need. This is the only place in india so far that provided us with a map on arrival and help. This place is an absolute credit to the owner and the way he treats his staff. Yes compared to western standards some things could be improved by honestly its minor things. Food is great here, menu has a range of options, and reasonable prices too. Location is great and would highly recommend booking the camel night through the hotel as it was a good price, our driver was very attentive. Thanks for a great stay and will sure be back Oh a tip: They do railway station pick up if you message in advance and also drop you off which is a good extra included.

Overall it was comfortable stay. The room was pleasant with two sitting windows one of which is faced to the fort view. Room was clean and silent. Only one fault in the room was the door to the bathroom which didn't close. The man at the reception politely accepted us notifying it, hope it gets repaired considering the price of the room. Breakfast was great with nicely cooked veg / egg food served in the top floor cafe where one can have a nice view of the fort.

We stayed for one night at the Mystic Jaisalmer during our holiday in India. It's a no-frills quiet accommodation within easy walking distance to the Jaisalmer fort. They offer unlimited free bottled water, which was highly appreciated as the temperature in Jaisalmer was 43 degrees celsius. The breakfast was ok, served on a terrace with nice view of the fort. Overall, good stay for the price paid.

A lot of very positive things to say about Mystic Jaisalmer. We got to the city towards the end of our 3 weeks trip and it was exactly what we needed. Clean, calm, with a very accommodating staff. As the heat intensifies, we were provided with bottles of waters free of charge at anytime! We walked to every site without needing a rickshaw. The restaurant is located on the last floor and it's a big patio with a wonderful view of the fort. The food was very good and the service just excellent. Our breakfast was included. We also took their camel safari, another great experience! Very well organized, with delicious local food, and nice guides. All in all, we are very happy of our stay at Mystic Jaisalmer, we definitely recommend it!!

Good things: * Owner is super friendly and helpful. Bad things: * Towels are always dirty. One of the days we had blood stain on the towel. The employee seemed surprised we asked to change it after he had explained it has actually been washed. I tried to explain to him that the towel should be trashed, not just washed as it has big blood on it. * Showers are cold, 24 hours a day. There simple is no warm water. According to owner they start heating the water in the morning and it takes time for it to get warm, but we always found nothing but very cold water.

Cleanliness of room/hotel - Rooms were clean and good. Toilet / Bath needs renovation. Rooms need cupboards and desk. (Atleast there were non in the class of room I stayed) Quality of service - Service was satisfactory. The owner and the Reception staff are very co-operattive, soft spoken and always ready to help. Hotel amenities - No extra amenities. The restaurant only serve Veg food. Food is okay. Hotel location - Situated in the old Jaisalmer city area. But at least its not deep inside the congested area. It is easy to access the Main road.

Its a typical backpackers hotel, hence dont expect too much from the hotel. However, Ashraf who runs this hotel will amaze you with his hospitality. Positives - We got a free upgrade to Delux room (booking was standard), staff was usually courteous, they have got good drivers - special mention for Fakiruddin rooms were decent and clean, hot water was mostly available. The hotel gives you a fair deal (doesnt overcharge or greedy to provide services to earn money). In fact the camel safari was quite good (around 1 hour and that too in an unchartered terrain). Other freebies included WI FI and usage of a room to freshen up post arrival after camel safari post check out. The negatives include average food and delayed service. It took almost ages to get even the menu card. The kitchen cannot handle too many guests at a time and the staff keep ducking your order in such cases. The entrance to the hotel is through narrow street filled with filth and pigs. This was a huge dampner. Again they charge extra 3% on card payments which was a little surprising given the high usage of cards. Ashraf is the heart behind the hotel and without his presence, the hotel looks out of place. Other staff are not in sync with his enthusiasm or sense of hospitality. The fort which is the main action area in jaisalmer is a 10 minute walk up. I will suggest this hotel if you are on a low/medium budget and looking to use the stay for night sleep mostly.

From the beginning - apparently these folks have a free transfer to/from the station. I didn't know someone is waiting for me so I paid another rickshaw. I was welcomed with a tea and shown to the room. The room itself is good, for a hotel. Bathroom had hot water - you just need to wait 2-3 minutes till it comes (don't get into the cool water as fast as I did). In the hot season it might get warm inside the room, so you might consider a room with AC if you visit in May, but at other times it should be fine without AC. I had a lunch - good food made over a fantastic view to the fortress. In the evening I had dinner elsewhere but then I was invited by the friendly owner for a dinner. The other guests were dinning there. I could taste some local, desert chicken, which I liked. The owner by the way is really friendly. I am now doing everything possible to stay for longer as the price is good and the town peaceful enough for writing. Nights are cool and pleasant. Internet was working fine, just initially had some issues with my mac (I had to put down the openDNS servers, something that the router at home always makes me do... strange, but it can be solved). I absolutely recommend the hotel! The owner is working on a swimming pool somewhere, so I hope he keeps up the good work!

This is a great place to stay! Staff is really friendly, helping you whenever possible and taking the time to chat with you. They want you to feel home and that's what they did! Great atmosphere! Location is perfect, close to the fort, the market and the lake. The rooftop terrace with fort view and hammocks is the perfect place to relax and to meet other travelers. They have a good rooftop restaurant as well. At night they play Bollywood movies with English subtitles. I booked a non-touristic camel safari with them which I really enjoyed. Great experience to be outside in the desert with no other groups around, sleeping under the stars. Definitely a place I will recommend to other travelers!

First of all the hotel shuttle as stated is certainly not free. The guy who picked us up was nice enough, but then at a later point in our stay made a point to say something to someone who spoke English who then asked us for money for the ride. We had already given him a tip, so we felt like we were just getting the shakedown. Also, the workers/owners are constantly on you trying to sell you something-like to rent their terrible rusty old bikes, guide, excursion, etc. etc. Secondly, do not think that someone in or affiliated with this hotel is helping you out of the goodness of their heart. They are absolutely in it to try to get as much $$ as possible from you, so caveat emptor! We were trying to figure out how to get from Point A to Point B. There wasn't really a direct way, so we were advised to take a 3 hour taxi ride. That was consistent with what we had read & what other travelers advised on message boards. We were actually naive enough to think that we just met this random person on the street who helped us figure things out. Now in hindsight I think he followed us from the hotel to try to get more money from us. We were then waiting at the hotel for our pick up at the designated time. Somehow, we come to find out that our ride is not coming , however if we still want to leave right there & then to be able to make our train to Point B in time, we would now have to pay DOUBLE what we had agreed upon. We quickly realized that we were being scammed & they were all in it together & that the driver probably never planned to show up. Now thank goodness we were smart enough not to give any deposit money earlier when we booked the reservation. We were asked to-if you are, don't do it!! It was a ridiculous situation & we felt that this was done on purpose & they were all in cahoots. Suddenly when we said that we were going to go down to the next hotel & look for an honest taxi driver, the price started to go down. For this reason alone I would not recommend this hotel. I could not believe how dishonest they were!! Nor could I believe how blatant they were about just trying to extract money from us. All of this paled in comparison to the thin walls, dirty sheets & constant construction noises all around the property, which did not seem to be quite finished. I would NEVER stay in this hotel or recommend it. I know there are tons of honest people in India & this was probably the worst hotel experience we had. If you do stay here, just do your best not to talk to or trust anyone working here!
