We stayed one night. But from there we walked to a Main Street to find a few places to dine. Train station and buses available were easy to find one block away from Hotel Roberta. We also enjoyed a good breakfast selection included in the room fee.

Hotel Roberta itself to a tucked away on a side road and is not too prominently visible until you get closer. We had an uneventful check in and were able to get out to Vence Mestre station quickly. But we were warned at the station about returning too late on New Years eve. Return to the hotel that night at about 10 pm after most businesses closed made us nervous with groups of young boys loitering and setting off firecrackers.
The room was a few hallway turns away. Room itself was cozy with 4 beds and a small bathroom (and a tiny shower!). Good hot water and plenty of towels. Beds were comfortable. But would have preferred comforters instead of the wooly blankets.

The room was overall clean and checkin and checkout were easy. Staff was nice and spoke enough English to assist us which was appreciated as our italian isn't quite as good as it could be.
My issues stem with the comfort, smell and overall area. Upon emtering the room, we were hit with the immediate stench of cigarettes. It was overwhelmingly bad. At first we thought it was coming from the street below, but soon realized it was in the headboard and furniture.
We considered saying something to staff, but after 17 hours of travel and a language barrier, we decided not to.
We did some remedies of our own to mitigate the smell and were able to dull it enough to get by. That leads me to issue # 2. The beds are extremely firm and uncomfortable. They also arent particularly spacious but we understood this going in as Europe is less spacious in general with accomodations compared to the USA.
Sleep was difficult due to the discomfort in the beds, but again, we got by.
My final issue is the location, though this was the lowest of my concerns. The area overall felt a bit unsafe. The hotel presents itself fairly well, but stands out in what appeared to be a rougher part of town. We heard neighbors screaming at each other, and found the area in relative disrepair. This isn't the hotel's fault by any means, but is something to consider.
The hotel is fairly close to the train station (6 or so minute walk) which is why we assumed it would be a nice area.

The location was as expected, the room was small, as expected. There was ok storage and the bathroom was well equpped, new- looking and clean. The room was too hot but the air-con was effective. The problem was the bed. It was too firm and had only one "pillow" which felt like a flat block of foam. I found it impossible to get comfortable in any position, or to sleep.

Used this hotel as a base to visit Venice. The location of the hotel is excellent - 20 minutes on the bus from the airport to Mestre and a 10 minute walk to the hotel. Venice central is 10 minutes on the train. Hotel room was clean but basic. No frills but all we needed for 3 nights. Continental breakfast was very good. Kettle in the room would have been appreciated, the room needed a bit of TLC but for the price, I would recommend and will happily visit again if visiting Venice.

The photos in Expedia and hotel website are not accurate; the hotel should update their website to provide accurate representative of their hotel and staff. This hotel seems to have a new management. The staff that checked me in did not understand English well; he just took my passport and ask for the city tax. He did not provide usual information such as breakfast time and check out time. When I asked him about the restaurant next door he just said we don’t own it. Also when asked about transportation he just gave me bus numbers.
The fridge in the room have mold. I would not stay here again. Stay at the little hotels owned by Italians nearby.

Location was about a 5 min walk to the train station. Convenient if you plan of visiting Venice.
Staff could use some training on customer service, being consistently reminded that breakfast is closing every 5 mins in a rude way.
The rooms are decent, typical for Italy. Not sure if I would stay here again, price was ok.

It was a nice hotel. Very close to Mestre train station, 5 min walk. Eassy access to get to Venezia.
Room was a little small but enough for 4 of us as we were only there to sleep. Room was nice & modern but Bathroom shower needs to be updated & cleaned. It smelled of urine near the toilet. Shower was Quite moldy. It should be the most cleanest & hygienic. I wouldn't go barefoot in the shower. Quite disgusting and Disappinted for this.

You can save yourself a lot of money by staying here, walking five minutes to the train station, and going to Venice island in ten minutes.
Just dont expect glitz and glamour .
Its got everything you need and nothing more.
