More about hotels in Kuwait

Kuwait is located in the north-western corner of the Persian Gulf. The boundary of this country is the north and west of Iraq, south by Saudi Arabia and to the east is the Persian Gulf. Kuwait is an Arabian Peninsula.

In the early eighteenth century, Anaiza tribe has migrated to the Persian Gulf. Anaiza tribe which is from Saudi Arabia joined forces there and they were called as Bani Utub. When they came to the country, they saw a fortress or a “Kut”. This is where the name of Kuwait came from. At that time, Kuwait was controlled by Bani Khalid. Bani Khali d is just a small tribe and they are not using over 100 miles of sea. However, Bani Atub was the one who uses a lot of water and they managed to make trading networking with other countries. Kuwait was a very good location for trading goods to other countries. They trade goods such as spices, coffee, and dates. The most popular trading good was pearls. From that moment, Kuwait was called as the Pearl of Gulf.

In the trading economy era, Bani Utub was the main power for Kuwait.  Nevertheless, it happened that there were separations of classes. The top of the class was Al-Sabahs. Eventually, they managed to establish a sheikhdom in the year 1756. The reason is the country’s fortunes have been to foreign commerce. Besides that, in order to control the whole trade industry, they have the best administrative skills.

In the year 1899 until 1961, Kuwait was under control by the British. Iraq wanted to try to conquer Kuwait but the attempt was not successful. The United Nation pushed Iraq’s army out of Kuwait within days of launching an offensive in February 1991 but eventually, they set fire to the most of its oils wells. Then, Kuwait managed to recover back and they have become one of the highest per capita incomes in the world. The government of Kuwait continues to provide material benefit to their people.

In the present, the capital city of Kuwait is Kuwait City. In the early 20th century, black oil was discovered in Kuwait. Throughout the years, Kuwait City has transformed from being called as Pearl of Gulf into becoming the centre of international business. Kuwait has a total population estimated at 4.1 million people in the year 2016 and the city is expecting to have more people in the year 2018. The area of Kuwaiti is 17820 square kilometres. For Malaysian tourists who want to enter Kuwait, the visa is valid for 3 months on the day of arrival. The primary language for Kuwait citizen is Arabic. In schools, the students were taught using Modern Standard Arabic. English was placed as the second language that taught in the school. For other languages like Hindi, Urdu, Persian (Farsi), and other languages also are spoken among the foreign population.  For religion, since a majority of the Kuwaiti citizen practice Islam, Islam has become the official religion in Kuwaiti with 70 percent. The second highest religion in Kuwaiti is Christian with 17 percent and the rest are Hinduism Buddhism or others. In Kuwaiti, there are two types of Muslim group such as Sunni and Shia. The highest group of Muslims is Sunni with70 percent and another 30 percent is Shia. Kuwait has a subtropical desert climate, mild winters, and hot summer. The winter usually happens in the month of December until February. During spring, the weather is sunny. Sometimes, the temperature can be risen up to 33 Celsius. During the summertime, the weather is very hot and windy. The temperature can be rise to 52 Celsius from June to August. In autumn, the weather is still hot and sunny in October and the temperature drops below 30 Celsius in November. Therefore, the best time for tourists to visit Kuwait is from November to March.

Kuwait has many great dishes that must try-on. Kuwait offers different types of cuisines such as Arabian, Persian, Indian, and Mediterranean cuisines.  The tourists should try Kuwait’s national dish called Machboos. Next, the people in Kuwait like to eat Kuboos and Hummus. Kuboos is a flatbread or pita bread that made of wheat flour and then baked in a hot oven. The flatbread is eaten with Hummus. Hummus is made of chickpeas. The chickpeas are mashed and blended with spices and olive oil. For light snacks, the tourists should try shawarma and kebabs. These dishes are from Arab. A large flatbread will roll the filling of a thin sliced of chicken, beef, goat, and lamb. The shawarma is eaten with fries, tabbouleh, falafel, and hummus. For Kebab, it is a grilled chicken or mutton.  The tourists should not miss these mouth-watering dishes. Kuwaitis like to a popular Arabic sweet dish called Luqaimat.
