An excellent place to stay in Riga whether for work or pleasure. It was centrally located with easy access to m ass transportation and the center. The staff was friendly and helpful and the property was in excellent condition. I was pleased with everything.

A bit too far for a walk to the centre of the city especially with kids. And very big contrast with neighbourhood buildings.

Easy access to all shops, train station and transport to beach, very modern rooms. All necessary kitchen appliances and tools to cook. Ventilation in hot weather. Good shower. As well washing machine to not care about laundry searching. Good quiet sleep, has parking spaces and children play space. Safe with gates. Staff friendly and have little shop inside for souvenirs and essentials. Overall very nice place to stay for holiday.

This place is an absolute STEAL for the price! Great communication from the staff prior to checking in. The self-check-in option for later arrivals is very easy and convenient. The only downside is the lack of public transit options to the city center close by. The walk to a bus stop isn’t too far, but with weather in the teens, it’s an arduous journey.

The photos being displayed on the hotel.com website is extremely misleading! I thought that I was booking an apartment but ended up with a tiny hotel room with double bed and small microwave! I showed the receptionist the description from my confirmation itinerary which included a kitchenette and was told that a kitchenette meant only a microwave! I had to pay additional $140 to upgrade to tiny studio apartment which was located in a different location. When I got to the new apartment the stove top didn’t work. I don’t feel like I got value for the money that was spent!! I feel like they are deliberately misleading people! Don’t be taken like I was! Make sure to confirm before you book exactly what you are getting!

It's nice that they have 24 hour reception. The place is about 1 km from the old town. There's a gas station for emergency food close by, but there's also a coffee machine in the hotel. We had a "double room with kitchenette" - it was very tight and there's definitely no space to cook so don't be fooled by the word kitchenette. There was a fridge and toaster and some crockery. Maybe opt for a bigger room if you want to make your own food. All in all, no problems

Custumer be aware! They are CROOKS!!Plain and simply. After two months they Refuse to pay back a deposit of 100E. They say they paid it. Still they don t produce the actual deposit slip from the bank..
EXPEDIA IS OF NO HELP! I hold Expedia also responsable for such behaivior. All in all a terrible experience.

Upon my arrival the receptionist of the hotel asked for my credit card claiming that My Expedia package didn't include the hotel payment. I showed that I had paid in full for my hotel and airfare. DO NOT provide you card information!!! I didn't!!!
Also the room assigned had a broken mattress. I complained and was given another room.
And the hotel location is very hard to find. There's no signs visible from the street, neither a street sign.
I don't recommend this hotel.

Riga Sonata Apartments were fantastic and even larger than my own one bedroom apartment back home. Very clean and modern and besides a spatula, the kitchen had literally everything we needed to cook our own meal. Sometimes you need to take a break from eating out every night! It even came with a washing machine. Overall everything was great. The area was quiet and about 10 minutes (a 3 Euro cab ride) outside of downtown. Highly recommended.

Overall very nice place to stay if looking for affordable price.
DO AVOID room on the ground floor as you initially can hear all the reception conversations, smoking benches are placed just below your bedroom windows even if someone is smoking outside i promise you will hear it all including the noises from the rooms next to yours.
Avoid it if relaxing stay and good sleep is your priority.
