The hotel is amazing. The place is really authentic with neat modern appliances. The price is reasonable for a room with three beds and two bathrooms for four people. Perfect for a family. The meals were tasty, we tried different kuih everyday, what a treat! It is located in the heart of the tourist area. I can enjoy a short nap after lunch and an afternoon stroll and back for cendol and Jonker night market feeling refreshed.

During these months, rainfall is typically lower, and you'll experience more sunshine, ideal for exploring the historical sites and enjoying outdoor activities.

The period from November to February often sees higher rainfall due to the monsoon season. While it doesn't usually rain all day, expect occasional heavy downpours. You can find excellent versions at local eateries and hawker stalls.

Char Kway Teow, a stir-fried flat rice noodle dish with prawns, cockles, bean sprouts, and chives, is another local favorite. Its smoky, savory flavor is addictive. For a lighter option, try Laksa, a spicy noodle soup that comes in various regional styles, each offering a unique blend of herbs and spices.

Don't forget to experience the local Satay, marinated meat skewers grilled to perfection and served with a rich peanut sauce. And for a sweet treat, Cendol, a dessert of shaved ice, coconut milk, palm sugar syrup, and green rice flour jelly, is incredibly refreshing. These dishes represent the diverse flavors of Malaysia and are readily available in halal-certified establishments throughout Melaka City.

It really turned us off when the Owner try to upsale the empty unit by suggesting that we have too many luggage, so the room we booked may not fit!. We travel around the world for many years. our luggages is standard one carry on and one check-in for each person. And it fit fined in the room we booked. Breakfast was tasty and plenty, but it was not hot. it was cold. Malaysian and other Asian food usudally is served hot or warm. Who can eat cold fried noodle / cold stir fried vegetables? She Reminded guests to keep the hotel floor clean! It is too bad because the hotel is nice and located at a very good location and the staffs are excellent!

A real gem in Melaka’s old town. The hotel itself is already a small museum of Melaka history and great for photo shooting! Service is great and room is spotless clean. Great breakfast, highlights of all Melaka favorite food! Laksa is a must try! Location is great, a stone throw away from the Junker’s street. All the tourist spots are within walking distance. Tips: Choose a room not facing the Junker street side if you prefer quiet at night.

We had a wonderful stay at 5 Heeren. The breakfasts each morning featuring regional Peranakan dishes were delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel like we were being welcomed into their home. The HOGA tea shop, operated by the host in the back, was also lovely. Our room had 2 beds and was adequate for our family of four. The preserved architectural features and decor is stunningly gorgeous as well, the pictures only give you a small glimpse of what you will find inside the common areas and inside your room. We found our room a bit noisy from street traffic and trishaws into the night, but nothing unexpected given the location and keeping the fan/AC setting on high helped.

We had three nights at 5 Heeren and really enjoyed our stay. The staff and manageress were all very welcoming and attentive to our needs throughout. The interior of the hotel, with its many antique pieces has the feel of an old-style Peranakan home, which makes it a really special and memorable place. We especially enjoyed the local breakfasts in the main hall area. In terms of its position, it's super-convenient for exploring the heritage of the old town and very close to the night market, yet quiet and peaceful as soon as you step inside. There are some very good restaurants further down the same street -- thanks to the hotel staff for the great recommendations! We hope to visit Malacca again at some point and would definitely come back to 5 Heeren!

Do not miss the breakfast. Breakfast was a wonderful culinary collage of Malay cuisine, a little bit of everything. 😋

This is a very nice boutique hotel. It is perfectly situated and the staff is excellent. They are very attentive and they went out of their way to make sure that we had an enjoyable stay. If I’m back in Malacca I will definitely stay here again

Stunning renovation of the original building with lots of old objects to explore, but still a comfortable place to stay, within walking distance of all the major attractions. Friendly but non-obtrusive staff and a tasty local breakfast Street noise from the trishaws but the hotel can supply ear plugs
