They even provide you free refreshing towels and drinks in the afternoon with 3 choices: ice coffee, ice tea, and cold lemon water. It's pretty near to the chew jetty big bowl. About 15 minutes walk but there's penang's famous painting along the way with its heritage view so you won't be bored.
So far so good. Under the bed too many dust.
Strategic location, they have finally included mini fridge in the room. Do note parking will require access card now. (Obtained when checking in, by a refundable Rm50 deposit)
easy access to most of the attractions
Great location. Font desk also friendly. Will stay here again.
Had a pleasant stay, the location is strategic
The decor is simple and nice. However the room is not soundproof. We can actually hear what is happening outside our room clearly.
I'm stayed here 2 nights. Wonderful experience with the hotel. Great location and walking distance to attractive spot like Komtar, 1st Avenue, Chulia Street, Little India and etc.
Very bad room, dirty bed linen, only 2 pillows, tore pillow case and worn out pillow. aircond are broken, staff not providing alternative room. unpleasant smell in room upon check in, dirty stained chairs.
Good hotel with walking distance attraction.

Pillar in Superior King Room
We stayed 3 nights in this hotel in a Superior King room. The room has a prominent pillar and it took up some floor area of the room. Not safe for family with young children to stay in this room. There is only a dressing table chair and no other chairs in the room. There was only 2 bath towels and no face towels. Housekeeping on first day didn't come until 4.30pm. The TV reception is poor and the remote control was not working. There is no phone in the room, only outside in the corridor. Although the cafe downstairs is called Bean Heritage, but there was no beancurd on the menu. Good: The hotel location is very convenient and staff are friendly.

One night stopover
Excellent location in walking distance of most places. Room was large with air conditioning. Bathroom a bit grubby and dated with the thinnest towels ever! The staff were friendly but had no knowledge of the area I.e. Asked how to get to the jetty for ferry to langkawi and the receptionist said he didn't know. I had to ask him to print a map off google as the guy on the tour desk didn't know either! Asked for recommendations for local food for dinner and again they didn't know where the nearest restaurant was so make sure you do your own research before you go. That said the one night we stayed was comfortable and the building has a nice colonial feel, although you can hear noise from the corridors.

Superb location
Apart from superb location there is nothing much to shout on this hotel. Request for room services when going out at 9am and came back around 3pm the room still not tidy up. Upon check out the credit card machine is out of order so we have to pay cash. Room on the other hand are quite ok. We stayed at family room woth one queen and one single. Price booking from agoda is much more cheaper than direct booking from the hotel. Extension for another day cost at least rm20+ more expensive. Ended up change hotel.

Nice stay but something is missing
The location is great, walking distance to most places in town, shopping mall, street arts, UNESCO street, temples, hawkers street and restaurants, bars and so on. The room is clean, nice staffs, a good place to rest but.....you can hear loudly and clearly those annoying talking voices from the hall way even the door was shut, the room's soundproof is a bit poor, do not know how it is if located at any busy street in town. The hotel will allocate a free parking lot for guests as if possible, thus no worries about parking space if you came back late at night. I do kinda like their nostalgic feel and how they constructed inside the hotel. Overall it is still a good choice to stay in George Town if with good deals or offers.

Check in was easy, staffs were ok. Nice room, not plain and boring like typical minimalist hotels. The bed was pretty comfy. Bathroom was nice, big enough for a regular hotel. Had a pleasant stay, will come back again later.
