Pros: Excellent Service. Cons: Rooms are not worth spending. Cannot sleep comfortably as the Air-con is not effective due to openings in thatches. Insects are running over the thatched roof and your bedside thatches.

Lovely rustic kampung stay!
" cascading waterfall & rock garden" - I almost choked on my food when I read that this was what someone was expecting of this Resort. Well, it certainly had none of such modern stuff! Instead, what you get is rustic wooden Malay houses on stilts, complete with thatched roof and wooden floors with gaps (albeit small ones). Brings back such fond memories of my childhood, where the upper floor of my grandfather's house was like that! Except that, in Bon Ton, even the bathroom had such wooden floors! You just showered straight onto the wooden floor boards (obviously cengal wood) and the water would drip out through the gaps between the floor boards. We loved that novelty! My family of 5 occupied the Silk villa. It had 2 double beds in the main room which also had a marble dining table, old kopitiam dining chairs, TV & DVD player, console table, etc, and another 2 single beds in the 2nd room which also had a wardrobe, wooden cabinets which housed the fridge, safe deposit box, etc. The entire house was really spacious - all of us could laze around inside without getting into each other's way. There were 3 ceiling fans + air conditioner in the main room, and 2 ceiling fans + air conditioner in the 2nd room. In the mornings, we did not need the air-cond at all. Loved the fresh air once we opened up the windows. In short, we loved the 'back to kampung' feel about this place. Really hope to return one day. The only reason why I haven't given them full marks is : the lack of a cooked/hot breakfast. Mind you, the breads and fruits given are very good ones, but personally I would have preferred a cooked / hot breakfast. We did like the idea of having the breakfast in our 'house' at any time, though. Many others had commented on this "shortcoming" - perhaps the Management could consider - say, a microwave oven might be a good compromise?

Needs to up its game
Was there for a weekend after reading all the rave reviews online. While the rustic kampung houses give this property its own unique charm, it needs to up its game to match the room rates it charges. Pros: Close to airport and Pantai Cenang Friendly and genuine staff; they would whip up a teh tarik when politely asked Exceptionally cute and friendly cats on the compound Cons: Don’t quite buy the notion of making your own breakfast for this price- warm sunny side up or scrambled eggs offered will be nice. Toiletries weren’t replenished despite having three of us in the room; when asked at night, was told the office is closed. Too many bugs & crawlies for comfort Being close to airport you would hear planes taking off or arriving late at night. If you relish back to nature and a kampung experience then this is for you. But more could be done to let guests walk away with a feeling that the property is a real value-for-money charmer. Avoid rooms at the back or those close to the gravel road where cars drive in and out.

Unique place
We stayed at Meritus but came to spend our afternoon here to have lunch and walk around the resort. It is a quaint little place, cozy restaurant serving delicious food. The resorts are inspired by the old malay village, surrounded by coconut trees & huge pond. Very calming & relax ambience here. Major love!

We don’t want to leave.
There simply aren’t enough words to describe the Bon Ton experience. From the minute we arrived it felt like we had come home. It’s a magical antique village of traditional stilt houses filled with Malaysian antiques, comfortable seating options piled with cushions carefully curated by Narelle the owner. We keep finding excuses to shower in our delightful indoor/outdoor bathroom that looks out through wooden shutters to the lush private grounds. Even though there are other guests we feel like we are the only people here if not the world. The staff are unlike any we have come across. You don’t need to ask for anything it appears before you even want it. Iced lemon water by the pool, refreshing fruit for an afternoon snack. Inside the room is a basket to take your belongings to the pool so you aren’t trying to carry everything and lose items. Thongs and sarongs are thoughtfully left in the bungalow for your use. Breakfast is brought to your room in the evening and refrigerated so you can wake up and serve yourself at leisure instead of worrying about time. The best tea leaves, plunger coffee, fresh cold milk and ridiculous cakes along with tiny exquisite jams and condiments, yogurt and fresh fruit form your breakfast. Nothing is basic here. The night we arrived we went out for dinner. Knowing we are foodies we had been saved some local curries that had been enjoyed by other returning guests - a chef from KL. We weren’t allowed to go to bed without trying them. As I said we have been treated like family from the minute we arrived. Children are welcomed, a few families have been here. It’s a quiet, peaceful sort of place - don’t expect a kids club. Instead use the time to reconnect and enjoy each other’s company. We will bring our kids here and let them roam freely around the lawn entertaining themselves and watching them pretend they are in a fairy garden. There’s an animal shelter on site with cats roaming freely. They are sweet and absolutely not a hindrance. There is no noise no smell nothing unpleasant just the lovely company of animals. Our bungalow has its own personal kitty who lives underneath. We are so thrilled to be here and can’t wait to bring our family and friends here again and again to enjoy the hospitality of this exquisite place. Thank you for having us xx

Wonderful atmosphere, wonderful restaurant.
We love the authenticity of this hotel, our second visit and it didn't disappoint. Highly recommend the restaurant with wonderful food and attention to detail. We were made to feel very welcome at this special place, which we feel is far superior to other standard hotels in the area. We will be back!
