Tanjung Aru Beach - Tanjung Aru beach is located at the end of Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman and about 6 kilometres from Kota Kinabalu city centre. It was previously known as Prince Philip Park and houses Shangri- La’s Tanjung Aru resort, Kinabalu Golf Club and Kinabalu Yacht Club. The beach was named after abundant aru trees nestled at the fine sand. There are various activities that are offered at Tanjung Aru Beach. Visitors can jog, take a stroll and exercise with family and friends. Besides that, food stalls are also available serving local food and drinks until late at night. For instance, there are coconut and sugarcane juice, chicken or beef satay and steamed peanuts and corn.
Sabah State Museum - Sabah State Museum was previously a British North Borneo Governor's Palace and built in 1985. The Museum is comprised of the Main Building, Science and Education Centre, Heritage Village, Sabah Art Gallery and Museum of Islamic Civilization. Besides that, there are also ethnobotanical garden, a zoo and a heritage village. The main aim of this museum is to collect, preserve, conserve and document ethnographic, archaeological, historical, numismatic, art-historical, botanical, zoological and mineralogical collections from throughout the state. It is open daily from 9 am to 5pm and the admission fee for My Kad holder is RM2.00 and others are RM 15.00.
