Best Heritage Hotel Ever!
I am a person who travels a lot and stay in multiple locations. This time around I was visiting my in laws with my fiance and we chose to stay at this location. We were arriving late that day since our bus trip from Kuala Lumpur was delayed. The host, Calvin was just the best. His exceptional customer service skills and fantastic hospitality just blew our minds. He prepared the room for us in advance, left the air-conditioning, together with the heater, left for us info and maps around Penang Island to enjoy our stay there. The room is old, due to its colonial heritage, but it is maintained very well. There are many power points in the room so you if you have multiple electronic devices and need to charge or power them up would not be an issue. The toilet and bath is separate and well maintained. The ambiance of the room give you a very nostalgic feeling as if you were living back in the days of old. The veranda was just party piece to the room, as there is a table and chairs where you can lay back and sip a cup of coffee or tea of which ever beverage you choose and just enjoy the moment. Price of the room was definitely affordable to the type of ambiance and hospitality you get with them. Overall, it was the best stay I have ever had. The room was good, and the hospitality was just like a cherry on top of a cake. I would recommend people of ages 30 plus and older to stay here or for those who are heritage loves and appreciate old architecture. For those who are more modern like, might find this place very primitive, hence do have you other options open. Very satisfied with the stay and treatment. 10/10 will come back to stay here again on my next visit to Penang Island

Perfect Location, Great Customer Care
Walked all around central Georgetown but there's nothing like coming home to The Palanquinn on Bangkok Lane--a cozy, quiet and charming street. Heritage homes / converted shop houses line the street. The rooms are comfortable, the bathrooms are spacious, the common area has a small table, refrigerator and sink so you can take care of yourself in the afternoon. Kelvyn and Li responded immediately to all my email messages and oriented me properly with the property. Great price, great location, and wonderful if you like some down time and privacy at the end of the day.

Comfortable and quiet place to stay
We actually made a booking for the Palanquinn Heritage Suites, not realising that there were two buildings owned by the same people in the same road, which led to minor confusion on arrival. We were very pleased with our room on the upper floor. The bed was very comfortable, the air-conditioning was effective and quiet, and we found the room very quiet, with good curtains which kept the light out, so got a good night's sleep. The bathroom on the balcony, just screened by blinds, was a novelty, but fun, and we had plenty of hot water for showers. It was useful to be able to make tea or coffee in the little kitchen area downstairs, and keep a few items cold in the fridge. It was quite possible to walk to Gurney Plaza, and to visit the Thai & Burmese temples in the next street. We used the buses a fair amount to get about, and the stops were quite close by for travelling in either direction. There were also several places to eat nearby, although we only had breakfast in the area, and one lunch on our arrival day. Kelvyn was away when we arrived, but was very responsive to emails, and very helpful when he got back. In summary, we found Dwell a peaceful and comfortable haven to return to after long hot days of exploring.

The host extremely lovely and very helpful. if other guest complains about noise outside, make sense..when u stay at a place like home, of course there will be noise at the neighborhood..location very near to pulau tikus market where you can find a lot of good food..what else i can say, i will be back next time! <3

Amazing BnB with hosts who will go out of their way to make your stay unforgettable
We spent our wedding anniversary weekend at Dwell and our stay from start to finish had been incredible. Jennifer got her driver to escort us from the airport which was really convenient since ours was a late flight in. The property is incredibly charming and we loved the comfortable bed and outdoor bath - the latter was secluded and allowed us to bask in the sun while enjoying a long bath to the tune of chirping birds. Kelvyn jumped through many hoops to help us find a place Sunday morning where we could watch the Pacquiao-Mayweather boxing match - we did not expect that level of dedication and were very touched. He also arranged for a taxi to drive us to the venue so we did not have to lift a finger. The area itself is very quiet so we were able to get good sleep every night. There is incredible street food nearby (the famous Bangkok Lane and Jones Road mee gorengs plus Sin Hwa char kway teow were 5 minutes' walk and the Pulau Tikus wet market just around the corner). The only downside is the surrounding area lacks nightlife (there is 1 restaurant and bar specialising in American BBQ) so if you want places to grab a drink you will need to go out of the street - but that is an easy cab ride away and we cherished the quietness rather than found it inconvenient. Will recommend to EVERYONE WE KNOW.
