A Basic Hotel for a Short Stay
My better half and I together with our friends stayed in this hotel during our recent visit to Melaka. It is a hotel with only basic amenities. The room was modest and clean. The bed was firm and with only one pillow and a small cushion provided. There were a wall-mounted LCD television and a DVD player. The bathroom was spacious with clean towels and soap provided. The shower was powerful. Access into the room was with a keycard. Free wifi was available. For those driving, there is an open space beside the hotel for parking. The best point of this hotel is its location. It is within walking distance to all the famous historical sites like the Stadthuys, A'Famosa, Christ Church, St Paul's Church, Cheng Hoon Teng Temple and the Maritime Museum. It is just a few hundred metres away from the popular Jonker Street and Chinatown. The breakfast provided was very simple with bread, coconut-milk rice and fried noodles together with coffee and orange juice. However, as this breakfast is included in the very affordable room rates, it is not fair to complain about this meal. The most disappointing part of our stay there was the reception. The receptionists were not friendly almost to verge of being rude. They were more interested on their handphones than to attend to the guests. They were unhelpful and spoke in a way that showed that they were not trained or not suited to be in the hospitality business. For visitors to this historical city who are looking for just a simple place to sleep after a day of walking and sightseeing, this hotel is acceptable based on its good location and affordable room rates. Footnote: There are two other hotels in this city that bear the Hallmark name. This hotel is named Hallmark Hotel Leisure. The others are named Hallmark Inn Hotel and Hallmark View Hotel.

There is a lot improvement needed
I have visit to this hotel and there is few pros and cons Pros -Very near walking distance to jonker street -Hotel with reserve parking space -Price affordable -Room and toilet very clean -Free newspaper every morning -Heater is hot and water pressure is strong -Breakfast buffet is good but not much variety . Cons -Receptions is very unpolite and we asking about reserve parking outside , but they ask me to take the cone away myself and alway without smiles. -Room is small and old and refurbished needed -Room light is very dim ,should put brighter led bulb . -Mineral water inside room is not free and charge Rm3 each which is very very expensive . -Bed is not comfortable -Wifi =No wifi

Avoid to deal with this lousy hotel
Firstly I having a problem with their receptionist. I arrived quite an early morning & I seek an immediate check in. Sadly they only allowed to check in at 2pm without give us any specific information or solution. There's no empathy or something to do with that. They declined my request & I felt so sorry for them. Always liased with thousands hotel out there but I never faced any problems before, they will try to help and see whether any room available now for me & I can proceed the extra payment. Don't simply judge your customer based on what attire they wear but treat your customers like your every month salary that you withdraw from atm machine. After I ask again with English language then they focus on what I want. Few minutes later then they inform can check in on 11 am. I arrived on 9:30 am & can you imagine how long I waited for their lousy service. Bosses please give training if they are not able to carry out your hotel service otherwise get ready to lose your customer. Breakfast is so terrible. Please avoid it. Rude staff. I will make sure that I will delete this hotel from my Melaka list. Room not to comfortable with wet carpet. So frustrated.

False advertising. Avoid this hotel. Disgusting.
The room we booked on line was not what we booked. The photos were from one of their other hotels. It was supposed to be a double deluxe room advertised as 24 square metres. What a joke it was no bigger than 10. The. Fridge did not work. So asked to be moved. Which they then showed us a room that was even smaller. So Asked again if they had another room. Which we ended up staying in. Wrong choice as the air conditioner stayed on high all night and couldn't adjust the settings. The refrigerator also didn't work. No glasses in room. Had to slide down the bottom of the bed to get out of. Breakfast was hopeless as their were no knives or fresh milk. Had to sit not tiny stools. All staff were absolutely hopeless. As we had originally booked for 2 nights and had payed for, we left as it was disgusting. Don't stay at this so called hotel. There are so many other ones in the area that are better. STAY AWAY.
