Japamala Resort by Samadhi is a boutique resort by and one of the three Samadhi Retreat properties in Malaysia. It is an exclusive resort of 13 rooms surrounded by lush tropical rainforest. It is located nearby the beautiful Tioman Island featuring Malay designed villas, outdoor pool, 2 dining options and elegant accommodation with a terrace. Japamala Resort is located at Besar road near Tengku Ampuan Afzan hospital. Guests can reach Japamala Resort by driving from Kuala Lumpur city centre by using MEC highway. Japamala Resorts is only a 20-minute boat ride from Tioman Island. It is located around 13 kilometres from Tioman Island Golf Club and 50 kilometres from Mersing. Japamala Resort also can be reach from Kuantan town in Pahang by using Pintasan Kuantan road for only 20 minutes.
The 13 rooms are divided into Jungle Luxe Sarang, Treetop Chalet, Hillside Sarang, Seacliff Chalet, Seaview Sarang and Penghulu House. The rooms are fitted with air-conditioning, Wi-Fi access and iPod docks, flat-screen television, minibars and coffeemakers. There are also additional features for specific rooms.
Jungle Luxe Sarang is a 65 square metre room consists of 1 large double bed. It is perfect for newlyweds and friends. It is fitted with an open-air bathtub with complimentary toiletries and a spacious private living area good for dining and enjoy the great view of nature.
Tree top Chalet is a 50 square metre room fitted with 1 extra-large double bed suitable for family and friends. It is surrounded by the lush greenery and basic amenities including hair dryer and ironing facilities, hot tub and many more.
Hillside Sarang is a 65 square metre room with 1 large double bed. ‘Sarang’ which is nest in English introduces a private accommodation serves as a family area. It also features tall glass windows facing the jungle terrains, both indoor and outdoor showers, timber deck and tanning bed.
Sea Cliff Chalet is a 45 square metre room with 1 large double bed located on the edge of a mountain with views of the lagoon. The chalets are equipped with a personal safe, a flat-screen satellite TV and hairdryer and shower facilities.
Seaview Sarang has a size of 75 square metre alongside 1 large double bed. This type of room has a semi-outdoor lounge overlooking the magnificent clear blue sea, dip pool, walk-in wardrobe and a dining area. This room is suitable for family and friends for private gathering.
The Penghulu's House is a 2 storey villa which covers around 115 square metres. This spacious villa has 2 bedrooms, the first consists of 2 single beds and another with 1 large double bed. Besides private swimming pool, guests can also use the kitchen and dining areas.
Japamala resort also provides restaurants on site which are Tamarind Tioman and Il Tempo. This restaurant presents various cuisines from Indonesian, Malaysian, Thai, Local, Asian to International. It opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the menu offers ala carte style dishes. Il Tiempo is also another restaurant which serves Italian cuisines to guests and only opens to guests for dinner. Western specialities are also offered at Mandi-Mandi Restaurant. If guests want to dine outside of the hotel, there is a restaurant called Citra Anugerah Wah Leng Chinese Restaurant featuring Chinese cuisines.
Besides complimentary WiFi access throughout the property, there are many other facilities and services that guests can have useful access for comfort and convenience. There are souvenir shops, 24 hour desk, luggage storage and meeting facilities. Other than that, guests can also enjoy carrying out activities such as fishing, snorkelling or go on a diving trip. As announced by Royal Malaysian Customs Department, Tourism Tax is imposed starting 1 January 2023 for all hotel guests that are non-Malaysian or non-permanent Residents of Malaysia.
