Kudat airport serves the small town of Kudat in Sabah. It is located 7 km from Kudat town. The only flight that available in Kudat airport is Malaysia Airlines (MAS). To reach Kudat airport, every flight must be transited from Kota Kinabalu International Airport, because it does not serve a direct flight due to the limited space airport area.

Kudat is 190 km from Kota Kinabalu and the journey by road will take approximately 3 hours. You can take a bus from the City Bus Terminal (North) for RM18.00 per person (one way). The return ride will depart from the same drop off point in Kudat. Inform your bus driver of your destination. The bus runs from 7:30am to 5:00pm.

Most of petrol stations in town close early (Petron at 6pm Petronas closes at 8pm) AND there is no petrol station before reaching Kota Belud – 2 hours drive (100+ km) - If you plan to leave Kudat early or late then you need to get petrol well in advance. For safety and in case of emergency it is always worth keeping the fuel tank full.
