Don't be fooled, there is nothing Regal about it.
After reading how much of a mixed bag previous reviews are, I have reached the conclusion that the Regalia Suite reception must own/ manage multiple units within the complex.
Check in was horrendously slow and the warning signs were present very quickly in the run down reception room, a leaking ceiling, flickering lighting and general uncleanliness.
On booking.com our "premier suite" was displayed with beautiful views of the towers, fresh white bedding and a "city view". We firstly asked if we had been given the right room due to the fact that we had no city view (a motorway) and the room didn't really resemble the picture. I was told the view was subject to availability (cue the chuckles at reception), a little pissed by this as that's the main draw, but understood. We were actually told we had been upgraded to a 2 bedroom, but they locked the 2nd bedroom.....
The pool area is a riot, oversubscribed, stinky, unclean, kids bombing in, no drainage so essentially swollen and slippery wood.
The "hemisphere" is laughable, for such a premier location is a bit of a tinpot job but whatever, it's a little rough around the edges.
The fun really began when we returned to our room which smelled like a toilet.
The finishing was poor, the walls were smeared, wallpaper poorly hung, the fridge top was covered in salt and debris, the corners collected not only dust but plastic wrapping, the leather seat had a hole in the back, the flooring was marked, the window just flapped about as it didn't have a handle, all the drains emitted a strong sewage smell, the extractor fan was an absolute racket, the washing machine cut out 4 times (leaving us with a bag of soaking washing weighing a tonne lol), the front door had the biggest gap under it practically inviting the whole close in, the "lift bomba??!!!??" Was a shakey racket with cork board interio, there are holes in the ceiling, all sorts of crap collected between appliances and so on and so forth.
I mean we were only there 2 hours so sorry I haven't captured all its delights for you.
The wifi is also absolutely deplorable, if the above didn't put you off I'm sure that will.
You have to change code daily at reception, log in again every time you unlock your phone, can only authorise 2 devices and works only in the room. I know this for some people isn't a big factor, but for kids, travellers, business folk etc it's something to consider.
Please accept my apologies for my moan but I've tried to provide an accurate account. I personally don't think it's worth the gamble of potentially getting one of these other raved about "city chic" apartments. There are much cheaper and better hotels centrally which are clean and don't contain any of the above complaints :)
