Family vacation
The hotel needs a coffee house or cafe for guest to have a breakfast dinner and so on. On the other hand, some tourist or guest will come and had a most pleasant stay. The rest is good accomodation.

Everything goes fine and good. Except the breakfast stated incl but for muslim we don’t need breakfast during Ramadan. The breakfast cannot be our sahur. But overall goes fine.

Good hotel, easy park but I have to iron my cloth outside my room. The breakfast is so so. Overall it still a good place to stay.

Besides that, it features a dining place called Raja’s Café serving local, western and eastern cuisines. This café also provides daily breakfast and room service. Apart from that, Sanbay Hotel also comprised of various facilities and services. Among them are a 24-hour desk, complimentary Wi-Fi access throughout the hotel, luggage storage and fax facilities are available at the front desk. The hotel also provides laundry and ironing services as well Sanbay Ballroom which is ideal for conference and meetings.

There are flights from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Sandakan Airport by using airlines like Air Asia and Malaysia Airlines. The journey takes around 2 hours and 45 minutes. Once you reach the airport, you can take a taxi or rent a car to Sanbay Hotel for a 20-minute ride by using Lintas Utara and Cecily North road.

Standard Twin Room is a 21 square metre room with two single beds. This room is fitted with television, work desk and private bathroom with free toiletries.

Deluxe Double or Twin Room is a 24 square metre room with two single beds or 1 large double bed. There is an additional space in this room and can accommodate 2 to 3 adults.

Restaurant and Café in Sanbay Hotel

As for dining options, there is a café in this hotel called Raja’s Café. This café serves both western and eastern cuisines as well as local delights. It is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and teatime. Among the dishes offered are curry mee, fish and chips, grilled seafood and many more. Besides that, for dinner, there is a Japanese steamboat buffet that offers a wide selection of seafood, meat and other side dishes at an affordable price.

There are various facilities and services offered here at Sanbay Hotel for comfort and convenience of guests. Among them are 24-hour room service, 24-hour reception, business centre and car park. Daily housekeeping and laundry are also available. There are also facilities for disabled guests and elevators and meeting and banquet facilities. The Sanbay Ballroom can accommodate up to 500 people and used for events such as conferences, conventions, seminars, exhibitions and wedding celebrations. The ballroom is equipped with an air conditioner, a stage with a podium, great lighting and amazing sound system. Also, there is also another ballroom which is smaller and perfect for small gatherings and meetings as it can fit up to 120 people. For activities, there is a garden for guests to stroll around and guests can tour around Sandakan visiting interesting attractions and landmarks.

Tourist Attractions Near Sanbay Hotel

Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre - Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre is named after the two rivers flowing into the Sandakan Bay and started its operation in 1964. This centre is funded by the Sabah Government, and the objective of this centre is to return orphaned, injured or displaced orangutans back to their reserve habitats. The rehabilitation process starts with the orangutans admitted to the centre with a thorough health examination, followed by a quarantine period to eliminate diseases being transmitted. The young orangutans will learn ‘Nursery’ learning skills essential to jungle life such as building a nest and finding food. Once ready, they will move to the ‘Outdoor Nursery’ where freedom is increased, and dependence on food and emotional support is decreased.

Last but not least, the animals will be released into the 4294 hectare Kabili-Sepilok Forest which is rich in tropical rainforest and mangrove swamp. This centre opens daily from 9 am to 12 pm, 2 pm to 4 pm, 9 am to 11 am and 2 pm to 4 pm on Fridays and the journey from Sandakan Town to Sepilok takes only 45 minutes by bus, and the price is only RM 4 per person. The entrance fee for Malaysians citizens aged 18 years and above is RM5 per person, Malaysians citizens aged below 18 years is RM 2 per person.
