Experience is good but resort is old hope to refurbish. there's only 1 small truck to transport passengers to hotel so have to want multiple rounds for our turn at Laguna jetty

The hotel obviously needs some maintenance, breakfast can have more choices. But overall, I am satisfied with the accommodation, I particularly like the swimming pool.

Don't visit in October... or at all
Was expecting a luxurious villa and got very disappointed. The place is overpriced, ran down, breakfast was made from leftovers and facilities not available (e.g. empty bottles in the bar, closed diving center, no mini market). There were no bathroom towels! Old dirty beach towels were provided instead. Staff were nice and they do what they can, but unfortunately this resort doesn't qualify even for 3*. Throughout our stay things were disappearing, as they were shutting down for end of season, but of course charged us the full price in spite of significantly worse service. The inconvenience includes a big digger cruising back and forth on a beach... Also, on the last day someone stole my swim shorts and slippers from "villa" terrace, where I left them to dry... 😳 The beach and reef are great, so try Coral resort next door - no beach front villas there, but it's in much better condition and has good vibes. Some reality check photos attached.

resort poor
Sorry the place is amazing also beach but the resort is really too expensive for services and quality of buildings and accommodation. The food is the same every day no local food or asian, malaysian specialities. European or western food is funny but in Malaysia want to eat primary local food. The staff are friendly also people at the restaurant and bar. Sorry next time i choose a differend resort on this island.

One disappointment after another
This resort has the potential to outstanding but poor management and lack of care by the owner is ruining it. We stayed here for 5 nights from 3rd to 8th September. We were a family of 5 and we stayed in 2 chalets. The first point to note: Before we arrived I contacted the resort and asked them if I had to arrange pickup from airport and boat transfer and was told "yes I had to do it myself". Imagine my surprise when I turned up at airport and there was a hotel rep waiting for us! Poor communication from the resort. That cost me 300RM more to arrange my own transport and boat. The accommodation is spacious and reasonably good. Each chalet has a balcony and ours looked out onto what can only be described as a man-made pond with several fountains. Beds are large and comfortable. Only one key is given for each chalet which could prove to be a bit of a hindrance. We were okay because our chalet was right next to main part of hotel. Mosquitos were a nuisance in the room. I booked the chalet with breakfast and evening meal included. I wish I hadn't. The breakfast is very average and the evening meal consists of a buffet. We were mega disappointed in the quality of the food and we ate next door at Coral Resort most nights. There is a bar next to the pool and it's very comfortable but there was zero entertainment in hotel. On our second day the hotel ran out of white wine, tiger beer and coke light. No suppliers were added during the rest of our stay. Can you imagine a so-called 4 star hotel having no wine or tiger beer? The manager isn't fit for the job, neither is his boss, the general manager. The owner obviously doesn't care either. It's a shambles. We were well served by Allan in the bar but he has his hands tied. He must get complaints all the time. On our 4th night we decided to try the a la carte menu (and pay extra) in the hotel, only to be told that the chef has resigned and no a la carte menu was available. You couldn't make it up could you? They have a steamboat option for dinner but it's priced at 80RM per head. Quite ridiculous if you ask me. Would I go back? Definitely NOT. I would prefer to stay at Coral Resort next door.

Amazing beach
We returned for a week having last visited in 2013. We booked last minute and did not manage to arrange for transport from Redang island airport in advance - there was no response to emails and the lady answering the phone did not seem to understand what we wanted. Nevertheless, we found someone to give us a ride to the jetty (RM 20) and another guy to drive us over in a speedboat (RM 50). We were greeted warmly at the reception with cold towels and drinks and upgraded to a nicer villa. That made up for the hassle in getting there! The Lagoon villa was spacious and clean and faced a man made pond with a water fall. Unfortunately there was no diving available in Sari Pacifica and it turned out that the neighbouring Coral Redang did not accept divers from other resorts during this time. That was a pity because we have always enjoyed diving with Coral Redang people. Many dive masters were on leave and we wondered if this was due to proximity of Hari Raya or low season. Perhaps low season was also the reason we got a cheaper rate for our room. We managed to book diving with the Pelangi Dive Centre in the end. Redang has some of the best diving in Malaysia with crystal clear waters and plenty of fish and corals to see. If you are lucky, you might see a whale shark! Food was barely average and pricey for the quality, but the waitress in the upstairs restaurant was friendly and polite and the view over the gorgeous bay was just awesome. Overall the service quality seems to have improved. There were many restaurants nearby and happy we had not booked full board, we ended up visiting most of them during our stay.
