Placed in the district of Kuala Nerus, Terengganu, Redang island is one of the largest east coast islands of Peninsular Malaysia. Then, get your boat to Redang island. Public ferries usually depart from Shahbandar jetty. Another jetty is in Merang which the ferries are mostly operated by private resorts in Redang island. Therefore, you will have to take a bus from TBS straight to Merang.
There is a small Redang Airport which is operated by Berjaya Air. It operates direct flights to the island from Kuala Lumpur's Subang Airport and Singapore's Changi Airport.
Chinatown or previously known as Kampung Cina is located at Jalan Bandar. This humble little town has its own charms where there are colourful shop houses lining on both sides, eateries by Chinese, Malay and Indian, coffee shops, temples and budget hotels.
