Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) was once known as Universiti Pulau Pinang. Established as the second university in the country in 1969, USM moved from its temporary premises at the Malayan Teachers’ Training College, Bukit Gelugor to the present 416.6 hectare site at Minden, in 1971. Penang Hill (Bukit Bendera)

Situated at the height of 735 meter above sea level, this place is can be reached whether by cable car or hiking. If you choose hiking, there are two route provided which is 3.8 km (journey usually takes 2 hour) and 10.2 km (journey usually takes 5 hour).
