Kundasang is a town in Sabah and is one of the coolest places there with temperatures dropping to 13ºC at night. This little town has indeed grown into a popular leisure destination with many attractions and accommodations in its vicinity. A trip to Sabah wouldn’t be complete without visiting this stunning mountain town of Kundasang. With fascinating history and access to some of the best outdoor wonders that Borneo has to offer, this quaint little town must definitely be in your itinerary.
Being one of the coolest town in Sabah, Kundasang’s surrounding areas are covered up in picturesque plantations and farms and offers famously fresh vegetables and fruits that are locally grown. However, the main reason that this town is so great is how close it is to Mount Kinabalu National Park. There is no closer town with easy access to the park, and the convenience offers a chance to visit the mountain in the early morning to enjoy fantastic views.

J Residence is the nearest lodge outside Mount Kinabalu National Park, and with rooms price three times lower than those chalets and lodges inside Kinabalu Park. J Residence was built in the year 2010 and their lodge are partially hidden by trees and plants from the main road. It overlooks the Bundu Tuhan dwelling & farming community while the back is decorated with rows of tall matured pine trees. Temperature here ranges from 19°C to 17°C at night. Truly a great place to seek refuge from the hot equatorial climate of the other major cities of Sabah.
