Great place, warm staffs. There was a thunderstorm in the evening during my stay that caused blackout. Staffs did a good effort - instantly informing current situation, providing a torch. They gave complimentary breakfast the next morning that I would say as 'PR' strategy maybe due to what had happened the night before 😊. Would like to suggest if the host could provide mini refrigerator and add extra lock inside the room for extra safety.

About

Kinabalu National Park is Malaysia’s first World Heritage Site. Also the Centre of Plant Diversity for South East Asia, the Park boasts more than 5,000 vascular plant species and the park has no shortage of fauna as well, being home to some 90 lowland mammal species and many others. The main attraction at the Park is none other than the majestic Mount Kinabalu, one of the highest mountains in South East Asia standing at 4095.2 metres. Apart from traditional mountain climbing, visitors can also experience the Mountain Torq, the world's highest and Asia’s first Via Ferrata or ‘iron road’ at 3,200m to 3,800m above sea level.

To those who are more adventurous, there are other mountain activities such as Alpine Rock Climbing, Paragliding and also mountain expedition. Now there are now 2 picturesque trails to the summit, Ranau Trail and Kota Belud trail. The trails will take climbers from Panar Laban (previously known as Laban Rata) at 3,272m to Sayat Sayat (3,668m). And then continue on to the summit trail to Low's Peak at 4,095.2m. The new trails may be more challenging than the previous trail, but climbers will be rewarded with breathtaking views along the way. Surrounding the Kinabalu Park is a multitude of natural attractions and enjoyable activities such as mountain biking, golf, birding, farm tours, canopy walk and of course photography! Noted that visitors who wish to climb Mount Kinabalu are advised to make reservations as early as 6 months in advance to avoid disappointment. The number of climbers is limited to 135 pax daily.

Celyn Resort Kinabalu
Our second time coming here. This time we got valley view room which is the most basic. It's all good, but it's hard to open the front door because it leads to main road and it's also a big giant window. The room is less private, but I guess that's just the price we paid. We ordered food at night and it was delicious! Our breakfast is not buffet but still nice. Less choice tho. Overall, still a nice stay. ❤️ Will come again after saving money for better room. 😆

The resort is nice and feels exclusive with only few deluxe rooms. However there were big dogs loitering around the resort. Not suitable for OKU to stay too. Advisable to buy and bring your meal back to the resort. The rooms are much further then you can imagine 😅

Perkasa Hotel Mt Kinabalu
old hotel, quite shabby, but as long as the toilet is clean, then its ok for me. Awesome view where you can see the majestic Mount Kinabalu in the morning. Maybe they can do something to the window because it's quite dangerous for kids as there are no bars and we cannot shut the window all the time because we need cool air from outside since the are no aircond. overall, I am quite satisfied with what I pay.
