We stayed a total of 3 nights over the New Year 2016/2017 celebration with an average room rate of a 6 star hotel per night whilst the service and amenities are of 2 star hotels. Breakfast was the worst as there are serving trays of artificial meat and low quality cheese /crackers with repetition of triple the amount. I say skip it! Buggy service driven by the malay men was horrible and almost got us into an accident with the oncoming tour bus. The management should really look into the safety of the guests rather than rushing them to their rooms. The pool in the room wasn't heated as well so the water is icy cold. Overall a really run down property charging exorbitant prices not to mention the poor service and hotel amenities. Hope to see improvement in the coming years as its a nice location right next to the sea.

It was a 2 night great stay. we took up the executive suite with 2 king size beds. All the suites come with private pool though there is 1 big common pool near by the restaurant. For a muslim like me who cannot expose myself in public, such private pools in the rooms are a blessing for me...

Treated like king and queen
Before I start the review let me thank the manager (Stephen) and all the staff for the wonderful time you gave us over these nine days. Throughout our stay we were treated like royalty and I find it difficult to express how kind and friendly you all were towards us. On arrival we were greeted, given a drink and cold towel. The manager sat down with us and asked if we had any special likes as to food type, what time we would like the room to be serviced, what activities we had planned etc. Everything we asked for was adhered to throughout our stay. On our last night the hotel and staff treated us to a wonderful four course dinner complete with candles, silver service and a lot of bemused looks from other guests. What we did to deserve it I don’t know, but it was a lovely touch which we shall remember for a long time. To me a true sign of a good hotel is how it handles issues. If everything is ok then it is easy, if things are not ok then the way these issues are dealt with reveals a lot about the place and the people. In our case we found the room that we had booked, though beautiful was somewhat overlooked and was lacking hot water. We contacted the manager and were immediately moved and upgraded to a room that was completely free from overlook and with hot water, absolutely perfect. The rooms are all equipped with a pool. Some of the units are two storey and the lower unit receives very little direct sun. Be aware of this when you book and state your preference. It is also important to note that this is an over water resort, not a beach resort. There are some lovely beaches in the area, but the hotel is not on one. To me this does not detract from the place, as you have your own pool and sundeck but it is worth mentioning. The rooms themselves are of generous proportions, well furnished, spotlessly clean and quiet. The hotel description is more than adequate so I shall say no more about them. We found the food in the restaurants to be of high quality and plentiful, we preferred the main restaurant but there is also a very pleasant Japanese offering. The service was excellent and when we asked for something outside of the norm it arrived with no fuss. Bear in mind that this hotel and indeed the the whole area is geared to the home and Asian market and the menus reflect this. There is however ample provision for Western tastes. The area is kept spotlessly clean as is the kitchen. Prices are very reasonable and if you choose room service it will cost you an extra ringgit. The bar is also reasonably priced, and it is one of the very few places where you can hear live music in Port Dickson. Be aware that the bar snacks are a meal in themselves and on occasion the measures can be extremely generous. When we were there it was under patronized which is a shame, we had a great time in there. A little bit about Port Dickson (PD). This is not Magaluf, there are a small number of bars and restaurants outside of the hotels of varying interest and quality. There are several places to visit and things to do outside the hotel, but research them ahead of travelling. Subscribe to Uber, it is by far the easiest way of getting around and a car from one end of town to the other will cost no more than £3. The hotel will also arrange tours etc for you and give you advice on the area. The local people are incredibly friendly and helpful, they are a real joy to talk with. To sum up, we had the very best nine days just relaxing. Westerners are a rarity in this area and so we benefitted from true Malaysian hospitality in tranquil, luxurious surroundings. We also had the chance to meet and talk with Malaysian people as they took their holidays and learn a bit more about this wonderful country. We would go back tomorrow

unpleasant stay
Our unpleasant stay started from the moment at drop off area in the entrance. we were blocking by a taxi while we were queuing. after that we straight to the car park since the entrance were full with people. once again we faced the unpleasant moment because there were a long queue for check in and the waiting are also crowded. however, our check in was smoothened by Mr. Kiel (I'm might be wrong spelling his name) because we asked for his help to expedite our check in since we have a baby. Unfortunately in the deluxe pool room did not impressed us as we were greeted by unwanted smell in the room. we quickly call the operator also duty manager and we get disappointment as our call can't get through. we tried few times and after more than 15 minutes only we can talk to them request for room change. Instead of change the room we request for room upgrade. Generosity shown by the manager in charge who has high regard of his customers' satisfaction, are commendable because there is no additional cost for the upgrading. please take note that room 2041 the air-conditional was not fully functioning. in the evening we are about to have a walk at the beach. however, we a bit frustrated because the staff in charge at the pool area doesn't know the direction to the beach. we end up at the hotel pool which is for me not convenient as they lack of the benches for rest. we have our dinner & breakfast at Duyung Restaurant, food and dining experience were OK. the F&B team were doing great in their job. we think the management should put a signange or direction to the lobby or to the restaurant from the hotel. the staff should be trained in communicate with the customer or how to handle the problem. maybe to allocate a security guard or cctv at the basement parking area. we were disappointed because we set a high expectation since this hotel was a winner from Trip Advisor.

I thot that the in-room pool is small but i was wrong. Room was clean, buggy drivers are friendly, breakfast were delicious, service staff at breakfast restaurant are very attentive and very helpful... Check in was a bit delayed because of the long queue, i was in queue for half an hour before i got served. other than that, i would say its a perfect place for a getaway...
