Taiping is the second largest city after Ipoh in Perak, Malaysia. This city underwent a swift development after a major discovery of tin mine in 19th century.

Public bus (KKKL Express) departs every day from Puduraya Bus Terminal at 2:30 PM and alights at Kamunting Bus Terminal (Hentian Kamunting Raya), which is seven kilometers away from Taiping. Another bus service, operated by Transnasional Bus, serves trips every few hours (8:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM, 4:30 PM, 6:30 PM, and 9 PM). The bus trip cost starts from 25.00 MYR (price and schedule are subject to change). The journey takes two to three hours.
From KL Sentral Train Station, take the north-bound train from KL to Hat Yai, alighting at Taiping. The train departs on 10 PM and is scheduled to arrive on 03:30 AM at Taiping.
