Good for family with small kids
Big roomy room, we got a family room of king size + 2 twin beds. Large balcony. Very nice pool with a small mini water play area for small kids. Hotel is a bit run down but well kept. Definitely recommended for family with small kids for a relax vacation.

Nice quiet hotel.
It's nice hotel located in a quite place. Enjoyed my coffee at the balcony with the sunset and the sea view. The beach wasn't so clean but I guess this how the beach in Penang looks like anyway, so nothing negative about it.

Amazing Experience!
Beautiful hotel: the lobby was very attractive with a high ceiling and skylight. The room was also very spacious and neat. service and cleanliness was excellent. Facilities: free Wi-Fi, safe, TV, hairdryer, iron and board, complimentary coffee and water, toilet hose available which was very good and Muslim friendly, bathtub and clothes drying rope in the bathroom came in handy. Light and a/c switches were by the bedside. Room had a very large window and well lit. Had balcony which I liked. Our window/balcony had a view down to the entrance of the hotel building which wasn't interesting at all. There were two other couples travelling with us, They had rooms in the same level but on other wings/edges of the building and they're views were much better towards the green tropical mountains surrounding the hotel. The only problem I had with the room was that it was very cold even though we kept the a/c off at all times and it was boiling hot outside, I don't know how the room was always cold. The breakfast was amazing, we spent four days there, the buffet had so much to choose from, from western breakfast all the way to Asian and Indian, fresh bakery, and chefs to take special orders for omelettes and such. I personally loved the pool area. The pool was very large with various water depth levels starting from 50 cm for toddlers, to 90, 120, 150 and 4 meters if I'm not mistaken. There was a play area with pool and water activities and little water slides for small children that our three year-old enjoyed. This section was around the corner and not in plain sight which I think was a very good idea: kept the children’s noise away from people who were resting by the pool and also had some privacy/security for kids. There were seating areas for parents to watch over them though we could join them in the play area if we wanted to. There was a drinks bar at the pool. They did offer towels besides the pool but I would have preferred if there were some changing rooms with hairdryers, because it was not comfortable to walk through the cold building to get to the elevators and all the way to the room with wet hair and swimwear. The pool altogether was very Muslim friendly and we could go in our burkinis, there were many other Muslims there so it wasn't awkward. Near the pool was a play area for kids that was OK but not as fun and interesting as the pool. Oh and there was a free gym but I never used it so cant review that. There was a private pool also available for families to hire for extra charge, and also massage services but we didn't try any of those. The hotel had a private beach which was beautiful. But the water was not at all suitable for swimming the waves were too big and dangerous. It was nice if like me you just want to relax on the sand and read. The beach was supposedly private but there was access along the sea from both sides. It was very quiet not many people around. The staff were very nice and helpful. Especially the staff at the tour guide desk. They helped with all the questions we had about the area, although we never used their service to go around. The hotel had not much going on around it if you wanted to go anywhere on foot. There was a restaurant right across the street called Enca which was good and we only discovered it on the last day. There was a Chinese merchandise night market near the hotel you could find some interesting stuff there, do haggle! Could buy burkini there to use at the resort. Any other place was very far to want to go on foot. Overall had a very nice time there and would definitely recommend to Muslim travellers.

Excellent resort for Muslim families
This 4 star resort delivers IMHO, and for Muslim families it is a very good resort to spend holidays. Checked in with RM 100 security deposit per room, and our standard rooms got upgraded to superior king rooms on the 8th floor... lucky!!! These rooms were massive!!! Like twice the size of a standard room in a 4 star hotel (e.g. Concorde hotel in Kuala Lumpur), with 2 sofa chairs, a round table, a balcony, and the bed was 1.5 times bigger than a queen size bed! I was impressed. The resort and lobby looks amazing, very grand and elegant. Hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. There was complimentary water dispenser scattered around the hotel, which was very useful. The toilet had a hose (nice!) and it was interesting because you held the hose with one hand and opened the tap with the other, hadn't seen that before lol. It also had a bathtub with a clothes line for drying swimming trunks I suppose. The breakfast was brilliant, they had a very large selection of different Asian, western, continental options on buffet. They did try to vary it day to day but the variety was so much I couldn't really think what else they could add. Hands down the best buffet breakfast I had on this trip to Malaysia. On to the fun part: the pool and beach! I’d be honest, I don’t usually go to resorts, but since this is a Muslim country I went to try this out and I was not disappointed. There is one big pool between 1 to 4 meter deep at different parts, with one sitting section that had water pumps for relaxing. There was also a mini waterfall meditation pool that you could sit under the waterfall for zen like serenity. Then they had 2 smaller pools for children with water activities and also a playhouse. There was also a gym next to the pool with weights and machines. The pools were usually not very busy at all so could go with family wearing burkini and it didn’t feel uncomfortable at all because there were other women with burkini so didn’t feel out of place. And none of this nonsense in France with Burkini wearing tourists getting fined, so yeah check out Malaysia! After going past the pool they have a green patch area with grass and tall coconut trees where they set out reclining chairs for relaxing and then further down that you can walk onto the sandy beach. The beach wasn’t a white sand beach but it was pretty clean. There was a lot of tide and didn’t feel safe to go into the water, so just stuck with the pool. They also had massage services and various water activities but we were pretty content with the pool so didn’t bother paying the extra charge. One downside of this resort is that it is in the middle of nowhere. Not entirely nowhere as the Batu Ferringhi area is known for its beaches and there are several restaurants on the nearby road (Enca Cafe is a good halal one), but shops are sparse, and fast food is 20 minutes away on foot, so basically you should probably grab a car if you're going anywhere, especially in the heat of July, 30 minute in that heat and you’d be drenched. Apart from the various restaurants in walking distance on Batu Ferringhi there was a night market that started after 5pm until around 10pm I think and they have some pretty interesting stuff, so check it out. Perhaps we visited in a not so busy season and that's why we got upgraded and the pool was nice and quiet, nonetheless it was a great experience. This was the highlight of my trip to Malaysia and I would like to thank the hotel for providing such great experience.

okay but don't swim in the sea
on the plus side, staff are wonderful just talk to them! the pool is a real feature of this place, location is okay. they have plans to remodel the place shortly. rooms are large and comfortable. food is excellent well done chef! great value for money. down side the council has decided to run the grey water system 50 meters out to sea outside the hotel. this creates issues with suitability of swimming.
