Losong is a small town located in the district of Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, Malaysia. There are a number of fractions with the name Losong attached to it, namely Kampung Losong Haji Su, Kampung Losong Haji Awang, Kampung Losong Megat Husin, Kampung Losong Panglima Perang, Kampung Losong Tepah, Kampung Losong Atap Zink, Kampung Losong Dato’ Amar, Kampung Losong Feri, Kampung Losong Masjid, Kampung Losong Haji Mat Shafie, Kampung Losong Tangki Air and Kampung Losong Lebai Salleh. According to several studies, the word ‘Losong’ was derived from the name of a Buginese female who had escaped from her village at the time of war and then sailed her way to Terengganu and opened the settlement.

By Car

People driving from Kuala Lumpur may drive through the East Coast Expressway (LPT) exiting at Gemuruh exit before continuing the journey towards Losong.

The express bus terminal is located at Kuala Terengganu. Among the available express bus services are Transnasional, KKKL, Mutiara Express, Sani Express and many more. From the bus terminal, guests may hail a taxi to reach Losong.

Kampung Losong Keropok Lekor stalls

Keropok Lekor is known to be the signature specialty fish fritters of Terengganu and there is none better than those found in Kampung Losong Keropok Lekor stalls. Keropok Lekor are actually made from processed fish meat mixed with salt and sago flour. This mixture are then hand-rolled into sausage shaped lumps and immediately cooked in boiling water. There are several types of Keropok Lekor which are the boiled keropok lekor, the fried keropok lekor and there is also a version of thinly sliced, fried keropok lekor. It is a great afternoon snack usually served with home-made sweet palm sugar chilli sauce dip.

Terengganu State Museum

The Terengganu State Museum has been acknowledged to be the largest museum in Southeast Asia. Hence, it is expected to showcase a large collections of cultural artefacts and artworks. This include the famous Batu Bersurat Terengganu.

Islamic Heritage Park

The Islamic Heritage Park is also known as Taman Tamadun Islam, is located at the island of Wan Man. This park houses miniature replicas of nearly 22 famous mosques, minarets and tombs from around the world such as Taj Mahal and the Blue Mosque.
