So I feel like I experienced a case where what I saw pictured, described, and reviewed based on my search did not match reality of the actual property once we arrived. On the one hand, I found the property cute with a unique charm and vibe. On the other hand, I got a property that was more like a motel style drive-up where workers got an early start on doing some renovation and thus causing noise very early in the morning, about 0840 on one day. I didn't appreciate getting awakened at that time by a guy scraping paint of some walls and prepping them for re-painting. Like I wrote, the property has a certain charm and tropical appeal. I found the rooms nicely decorated from aesthetic standpoint yet simply outfitted; very basic. They were small too; we needed two rooms for my family of four...each room had just enough space to walk around the bed. I slept well and found the beds and pillows comfy. TV did not get any channels so good thing I had laptop and Netflix! Towel allocation very sparse; we got just two and I had to ask for additional yet had no problems getting them. Due to motel style, it meant bugs could get into room if I held door open too long. Inside the room we did experience ants and a couple mosquitos. My daughter received several bits. Breakfast good but simple; Asian style buffet with made-to-order eggs. Staff courteous enough with basic English speaking abilities, and so I used Google Translate to assist when needed.

The layout of the two bedroom suite worked well for a family of four. However, it is a hotel suitable for sleeping, not hanging around during the day. The breakfast consisted of a veg curry, roti and rice and noodles. You could ask for eggs to be cooked for you. We had the wading pool but it was unsuitable for use and it was being cleaned the last couple of days.

We stayed here in March 2019 & thought it was great & that's why we rebooked this year However it was a nightmare!!! Checked out after one very eventfull night We had paid in advance & lost our money of course ...not good 1st Night at 2am joined in bed by a cockroach then during next 2hrs tracked down 3 in total & eliminated 2. we managed a couple of hours sleep only to wake to a 3" circle of ants infront to the TV. Complained to front desk with evidence & their response we are sorry we will deep clean the room & if your still not happy you can change rooms. This should have been done before any guest arrived. We then when to try Breakfast ..... shambles NO European offerings all that we were offered was left in the warming( not really) pans & was dried up rice dishes . Coffee in percolator pot had stood for ever & was thick & undrinkable The one for the Tea had 3 bags in it NO water & was still on the hot plate burning. We had asked was there any eggs maybe an omelette. Person on breakfast said with a gesture this is breakfast ....in other words NO. We went next door to a cafe & bought breakfast. we returned & packed our bags handed the key back to reception . They still insisted on cleaning & offering another room but by now we had had enough & left Langkawi is a great place but avoid this place if you want an enjoyable stay

Great stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely surroundings and spacious room. Comfy bed with clean linens and towels. Didn’t use it (prefer the beach) but the pool looked clean and well maintained. Breakfast was delicious. Easy to walk to the beach and many good restaurants and close by. Could maybe do with some extra dusting in the room if I was being picky, get finishes touched up. V happy would rerun. Excellent value for money with the room size, bed and breakfast.

The room we were given was dirty when we checked in, with splatters all over the bathroom mirror, lids from used bottle still in the shower from previous guests and many items broken, eg toilet roll holder came apart on first night. We had to ask for shampoo and body wash as only enough given for one person to use and had to ask for toilet paper as this wasn’t replaced when room was tidy. So we were a little disappointed and not pleased with the cleanliness of the room. The hotel staff on reception were friendly and helpful when we asked but it got annoying to ask for things that should already be provided in the room. Breakfast was good, small but offered a mix of local food as well as English breakfast. The people running the restaurant were lovely.

Great area to stay for tourists - easily accessible to Pantai Chenang and other areas of attraction (Underwater World, Alun-Alun Spa, the beach etc.) and the stretch contains many cute restaurants and bars within walking distance. Rooms are generally clean but it could be better (there was a cockroach in my toilet) and the breakfast is average - the outdoor breakfast seating area may have some ants. But overall, not a bad place to stay. Lighting in the rooms is limited so for women who use makeup it may be a little hard to dress up. Staff is friendly.

I stayed at Royal Chenang room 2201 with a brief stint in room 7104 (I moved rooms due to noise, but the other room was even worse!). PROS: 1. Ideal location. You really can't be any better situated in Pantai Tengah; 2. Nice staff. Everyone is courteous, friendly, and helpful; 3. Beautiful setting with lots of nature, trees, and even monkeys; 4. The rooms are excellent & updated with nice style/decoration/accents; 5. The bed & linens are comfortable; 6. The room has good blackout curtains which is good for light-sensitive sleepers; 7. The rooms have workstations which are useful for getting work done while traveling. CONS: 1. The room safe is not secured/bolted, so anyone can easily remove the safe which defeats the purpose of having a safe; 2. No universal/travel power points/outlets or USB charging ports; 3. Pool dirty with many dead bugs floating on top, but the water color seemed fine; 4. Pool is only about 2 feet (less than 1 meter) deep so not much swimming can be done other than simple wading; 5. Entry doors desperately need weatherstripping & door sweep to reduce noise and bug entry: 6. Ants in the unit, but front desk has bug spray if needed; 7. Bathroom sink needs a small hand towel bar mounted to the nearby wall; 8. There is absolutely no soundproofing. If you are a noise-sensitive person, avoid this hotel! You will hear people outside, crying babies, pool crowd, and breakfast cafe; 9. No do not disturb sign for door; 10. No free welcome drink upon arrival.

Pros - Staff are friendly - Have private parking Cons - Hair dryer not working well (did not have heat, apply only to my room maybe) - Toilet Paul having noise at night random time (Not sure if apply to every room) Highlight Limited room that make the environment not so noisy and more safety

Great place to relax with peace and quiet. Small but quaint. Away from cenang crowd but near enough to get there even on foot.
