Awesome stay at Winner Hotel, central town and breakfast is good !
The telephone wasnt working, the television couldn't provide a clear channel, some lamps were broken and the card isn't functioning as it is supposed to be.

Breakfast provided is delicious. 3 of us stayed in a 2 single bed room and it's quite spacious. Everything was good except the room water heater is not functioning and there's is not telephone in the room. We stayed in room 501.

Strategic and convenient place. staff also nice. But house keeping service not very excellent. They knock your door and said "house keeping. house keeping! to do their job even though that is only 9.00am. Some of guests take breakfast but still some of them do not take and stay at room for more resting. As I know usually house keeping only can get enter the room if the guest going out or hanging at outside door the tag "please making my room". They want to finish their task in everyday earlier but this is not comfortable for the guest that still sleeping.

      How to get to Winner Hotel

      By Flight - Kota Kinabalu International Airport is the main gateway to Sabah and situated around 7 km from the city centre. Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia and Malindo Air offer direct flights from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Kota Kinabalu International Airport and flights are available daily. Flights from Kuala Lumpur will take approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. Airport buses and taxis are both available at the airport to take travellers into the city. Bus tickets into the city will cost RM5 and will leave every 1 hour whereas taxis will cost RM30 per trip. Ride-hailing services such as Grab is also available in Kota Kinabalu.

      By Car - For those wanting to self-drive around Kota Kinabalu can easily find car rental services at the airport itself. However, car rentals in the city offer far more competitive prices. There are various types of cars on offer, so visitors can choose according to their budget. A standard sedan such as the Proton Saga FLX will cost around RM140-150 per day. It takes less than 15 minutes to drive from the airport to the hotel.

The food is priced reasonably to allow everyone the chance to taste what they have to offer. The restaurant is run and managed by seasoned staff, most who have worked there for over 30 years. There is also a lobby café which is pork free open to both guests and the public from 7am until 6pm. Guests can enjoy their complimentary breakfast served here every morning. If guests are looking for to try other varieties of food, there is a 24-hour KFC outlet and a 24-hour convenience store located nearby the hotel. Coffee shops and the Centre Point Basement Food Court is also a 5 minutes’ walk away.

      Filipino Market (Handicraft Market) – Less than 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel, the Handicraft Market is a favoured shopping haunt for locals and tourists alike. Travellers can find an array of souvenirs to suit everybody’s taste. You might even find authentic treasures belonging to the diverse indigenous tribes in Sabah. However, shoppers are advised to bargain for prices before making a purchase. The market’s opening hours are from 9am to 4.30pm daily.

      Kota Kinabalu City Waterfront – The KK City Waterfront is an are comprises of a mall, a luxury hotel, resort homes and a 2.1km waterfront boardwalk. It is located less than 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel and is perfect for those looking for a one-stop dining and entertainment centre. The Waterfront is a popular hangout for both locals and visitors alike. There are plenty of food outlets to choose from, from Indian cuisine to fusion food. The Waterfront would come to life at night, a popular after-hours hangout and lots of great places to enjoy happy hours as you watch the sunset over the South China Sea.
