Perfect downtown location and excellent valet service, but the room comfort was lacking. The bathroom was clean and a good size, but the actual room was cramped with no space for bags. The beds were uncomfortable, the room wasn't very clean, and there was a bad odor. Also, carrying bags to the 3rd floor with no elevator was tough. Good for a quick sleep in a central area, but not for a long stay.

Not a large room, but arranged well. Great bathroom. Cleaning service each day.( Towels and bedding do not need to be changed if only staying two nights.) The bed was comfortable, but pillows not comfortable, too lumpy. Our tv did not work, did not seem a concern with the hotel. Great stay overall.

Hotel Frida was a wonderful place to stay. We kept extending our stay each day. Location is perfect - 1-1/2 blocks from the zocolo. Extremely clean and staff was very pleasant. We were on the third floor and travelers should be aware that there is no elevator (but staff helped carry our luggage) and it's quite a climb every day. "Breakfast" is nothing - marginal coffee, great OJ, bread - but there are many inexpensive places to eat within steps. Towels could use updating as they were pretty thin, but bedding was fine. One other thing - we spent several days trying to find a laundry until we finally asked at the desk - they offer launder services (they just don't publicize it) and we had a load done for only 95 pesos. Overall it was a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend it.

This was an interesting little hotel. From the outside it blends in with the perpetually worn and crumbly storefronts that are so common in urban Mexico. But the room was a complete surprise. Everything was modern, comfortable, and worked well. I was in an interior room with no windows, so I can’t vouch for street-facing units, but mine was totally quiet, secure, and had an effective ceiling fan. The room was well-cleaned and woman at the desk was thoroughly welcoming. She spoke English, for those who need to know. Finally, the hotel is literally two blocks from the center of town, which is stuffed with shopping and eating options.

This place tried to charge us after we already paid on the Hotel.com web page. It advertises AC but our room no AC. We booked two rooms with two double beds in boys rooms, they gave us a room with on double bed and acted like we were a problem when it was addressed. Service was very bad, will never use again.

A wonderful hotel with one exception. Hotel Frida, like many many hotels in Mexico, has upgraded its beds to the newer “orthopedic” types and it is like sleeping on a bed of concrete with bedsheets. I moved back to their sister hotel, Hotel Elena, because the beds there, in rooms 5 and 16 were a little more comfortable. I was unable to sleep comfortably at Hotel Frida.

Good stay, only issue is that we got the highest floor at the hotel, and the sun heats up all the rooms ceilings in this floor, meaning that if you stay is in the hottest months of the year, will be a problem because they just have a ceiling fan, not AC, but if you stay in the coldest months, then this will work in your favor so the room will be warm during the night because there is no heating. The hotel is right in downtown, many places to eat and visit around, the hotel is clean and simple, no restaurant or any other services involved. Staff was nice during check-in and check-out, they have valet and front desk available 24hrs, be aware that if you don't check in before 4pm of the day of your arrival, you need to pay for the room in advance, if you don't do that, they will release the room reservation and put it available to everybody else.
