What Guests Say About Their Stay

Wonderful, professional, friendly, and super accommodating staff. Breakfast to order was brought so quickly and tasted delicious. The location was prime and the neighborhood was one of my favorites to stay in my international travels thus far. The room was great, bed was super comfortable and bathroom was clean and beautiful. However, the shower water pressure could have been better and unfortunately seems to be the norm when travelling to Mexico, no matter the level of hotel in my experience. The hotel restaurant was also undergoing construction during our stay which we were not notified of until we got there. A heads up about this would have been preferred. Overall, would stay here again on a return trip to Mexico City.

This hotel is in a great location in the heart of Condesa. You can easily walk to plenty of shops and restaurants. I think they are renovating the rooms right now, and the end result was truly lovely. The staff was very polite and knowledgeable, and tried their best to accommodate us with the language barrier. The beds were huge and comfy, and the air conditioning was also a plus! I would stay here again!

The room was quite large and well equipped. Large shower with plenty of hot water. Very nice bath towels. Very comfortable king sized bed. The staff was excellent, especially Pedro the chef at the included breakfast. He personally tailors the breakfast to your desires. And he’s quite a character.

Charming, clean, & well maintained. Highly recommend for a budget option! Great deal for the price. They are in the middle of renovations so there was a little dealing around that (some morning noise after 8:00 & we needed to carry bags up 1 floor but they helped). The upside: you’ll get a freshly renovated space with beautiful bathrooms. Cooked to order breakfast on rooftop terrace by friendly staff. (Still under renovation but fine with us - no issues.) Would happily stay here again. Great deal!

I was told to move rooms mid stay at 10pm for the following day. They are doing construction on all floors and all the floors are dirty and dusty. My new room was missing items. Asked for credit for inconvenience and no response from management. The elevator was not working and then not going to lobby floor for most of stay. They should fully disclose the amount of construction they’re doing so when you book this, you’re fully aware of what you’re getting into. I do not recommend this place due to the lack of disclosure and lack of communication.

Best value for location and comfort! If you want bougie, stay in Polanco. If you value simple and clean with a cool vibe, stay here and in La Condesa. The bars downstairs were lively on Thursday and Friday during our stay. A bit of noise, but not too bad. It’s a vibrant city afterall. Hope to return soon!

The location was fantastic and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately, there was significant construction on all levels of the hotel: painting and stacks of boxes in the main entrance, hanging plastic sheets that prevented us from using the stairs which felt like a fire hazard, extremely loud hammering beginning around 7:30am in the morning, unfinished rooftop bar area, miscellaneous equipment scattered on all levels of the hotel. This didn't prevent us from enjoying our stay in CDMX, but it was a bummer that they never informed us of the extent of the construction, even when we were checking in. We learned we couldn't take the stairs simply by trying and running into walls of plastic. They told us they hope to finish construction in May, which seems like a stretch considering the extent of the renovations, but the owner should seriously consider closing temporarily, dramatically reducing the pricing, or at the very least being up front with guests.

3 couples 3 rooms, one week. Loved CDMX. Loved the location. Loved the staff. Great value. Good cooked to order breakfast. Downsides. Slimy dark shower. Not enough light for makeup at bathroom mirror. Rooms on Main Street are a little loud. 201 was our best room. Great bed and pillows. Some rooms did not have safes. 201 outlets would not work correctly to fully charge phones. Glad I brought batteries. Bring earplugs and an eye mask just in case. I would certainly stay here again.

Room was very clean. Great location and nice staff. However, on the first night, we were shocked at how tiny our room (#302) was. It was a complete misrepresentation of what we had paid for - half the size. No desk, no table, no sofa. TV was hang from the ceiling. One of the two windows only has a thin curtain, making the room very bright even at night from street lights. Expedia wasn’t able to do anything except compensating us with some omekey points. The following day, we happened to see hotel staff cleaning the two rooms next door, 301 and 303. Each looked like rooms from a different hotel - twice as big with a desk and a sofa, with just one window that has blackout curtains. The hotel manager agreed to change ours to Room 301 which we were super happy with and thankful for. I think it’s extremely unfair if a guest pays the same rate to stay in rooms ending with #2 which should be offered at a heavily discounted price.

I gave this rating because primarily, I believe the owner and the way that this place is being run a couple of weeks after I made the reservation. I got an email from them that some construction was going on in the lobby. On requesting a quiet room they said it was impossible for them to give me a quiet room or to ensure my comfort during the stay They advised me to cancel my reservation with Expedia when I reached out to Expedia, I was informed that Expedia reached out to this hotel, and there was no response. I was concerned about arriving here and about my stay here, but I found out that there was no construction going on and the room was quiet and the employees were good and polite. However, they consistently had problems with the door key, which would never open the door and each time the receptionist had to run up to open the door. In addition, the TV in the room was not worki I have a feeling that they wanted me to terminate my reservation there so that they can keep the money And not refund it and not provide a service. I had a non-refundable booking the owner of the hotel who was also the chef was very rude to me the morning that I saw him when I asked for a check out statement in case the airport wanted one. I also informed him that I would be giving him a negative rating because he kept sending me emails from the reception that my stay could not be comfortable due to the construction. He was very rude. He had anger issues and he told me never to come back again.

Our trip got off to a rough start as the hotel was under renovation, which meant a lot of construction noise and dust as well as the terrace, where breakfast was to be served (which was a factor in choosing the hotel) being closed. The hotel offered to bring breakfast to the room, but there was no comfortable place to enjoy it. Such things happen, but there was worse to come. There was no hot water in the sink, which made shaving a bracing experience, and there was no phone in the room - the phone jack was in the wall at the head of the bed. All the furniture was wobbly and uneven, and the lighting was dim and inadequate. Upon checking out, the woman at the desk requested that we wait while she inspected the room. She came back down with a dirty hand towel marked with lipstick and insisted we pay 200 pesos for the stained cloth. My wife does not wear lipstick (nor do I), and it was obvious we were simply being scammed. As we were on our way to the airport, we had no choice but to pay the fee. I have never had this happen at any property we have rented through Expedia (or anywhere else), and this is outrageous and unacceptable. My advice is to steer clear of this hotel. We talked with another guest, who had stayed at Maria Condesa before, and he said it was clear something was going on with management as the place was nowhere as nice as it once was. Travelers should stay away, andExpedia should review the current four-star rating as the hotel in no way merits such a status.

This was one of the worst experiences in my life. When we arrived after midnight, after 8 hr flight delay, we were informed by a rude receptionist that the hotel is under renovation, noise starts at 7AM, and we need to pay for all three nights, or go elsewhere. I was shocked but because it was so late we had no choice. Only got worse from there. Filthy, electric outlets not working in the room etc. Dust from renos. Stay away.

The hotel was in shambles. I had to move to a new hotel and they would not issue a refund.

The room was quite large and well equipped. Large shower with plenty of hot water. Very nice bath towels. Very comfortable king sized bed. The staff was excellent, especially Pedro the chef at the included breakfast. He personally tailors the breakfast to your desires. And he’s quite a character.

Hotel room had leak in bathroom sink. No TV as advertised and there was construction going on at all times of day. Hotel is next to two noisy bars that stayed open until 2am and played loud music. Horrible stay. Would not recommend at all and request some type of credit as the advertising for this hotel was inauthentic.
