Amsterdam Centre Harbour Apartments

interesing place style-wise..living room is really big yet its dark and not very well accessorized. kitchenette has all the basics and coffee and tea are available. a good amount of towels were provided. the bathroom has very poor lighting, otherwise its more than adequate. the mattress in the bedroom is actually two very thin twins and sadly the box spring is severely undersized. however the mattress in the living room fold-out bed is great for basic needs, this place is adequate. upon arrival, and after opening the front door, was a very foul body odor. while the bedroom windows open easily the ones in the living room are impossible to open for anyone who has no arm strength- its a struggle to get open. the elevator goes at a snails pace. to get to #302, walk up to the 3rd floor then walk down 10 steps. this is highly unatisfactory for anyone with leg problems. there was trouble with access, and when calling the customer service number and going through the prompts, the call was disconnected. numerous tried produced the same result. email message was responded to the next day, as promised. good location, close enough to the old city, with no noisy tourists. onsite management would make an immediate difference.

To expensive for what you get.

Positives: - Great location - Quick response (via whatsapp) - Easy checkin Negatives: - Place a bit dusty. Only the visible areas seem to be cleaned on regular. Lots of dust under bed, etc. - Blown out light bulbs - Checkout process (there was a building fire alarm that went off right before our checkout, and we had to exit the building for about 30-40 mins while the situation was cleared). We asked for 30 mins extra for our kids to complete getting ready and pack, but they could not extend that without charging us for an extra day. So we had to drag everything to the hallway, and completed our packing in the hallway.

I booked the property for 4 persons and was made to pay city tax for all for the whole stay. Though we had 4 people half of the stay. Not fair.

The windows do not open. We felt this was a fire hazard, so we could not stay in the apartment. We had to rent another hotel and pay double the price.

Enjoyed our stay. Everything was about a twenty minute walk. It could use some hooks in the front entrance, to hang wet jackets

The apartment worked out great 4 guests, plenty of space, elevator helped!

From the start it was a pain. The online phone keyless entry didn't work, I had to travel 20 min away to get a physical key card because they didn't have a checkin desk the our location. There was a smoker on our floor (supposed to be smoke free) when I complained they said they would send security to check it out but we still had smoke coming into our place the whole time. The place is in a black hole for public transportation if you want to use anything other than Uber. We had fire alarm go off while we were there and it was on for over an hour. There was no way of communicating with the office to get it shut off. Granted that may have been a fluke but still there is no clear way of getting any help if there is an issue. The only pros were the size of the apartment. It was modern, clean and had a full kitchen. But to me that didn't make it worth it for the other pain points.

AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE! We were not put into the room that we booked, we put in the basement room. I planned on sleeping on the large corner couch and my brother slept in the bed, not the case, I eneded up sleeping on a little 2 seater. There was no spare anything apart from dishware and the likes, oh wait we were blessed to get a second roll of toilet paper. The fridge was not working correctly and some service men called with a new one, which should of been when we were not there. The TV worked but most stations were in Dutch and the reception was breaking up, thank god I had my Roku stick with us. The bathroom had ancient sockets that were in the bathroom that were concerningly close too the shower. The bed has stains. The Immersion did not work properly and yet again the service men called in. No Toaster!.

For a group of friends who spent very little time in the apartment it was a great base! On the whole it was clean if a little tired decor in places and in a good location, 10 minutes from the main areas. The lift was not working and the stairs were extremely steep which was a challenge with luggage (and late at night!), getting up 3 flights of stairs. The apartment was enormous, a little strange layout with 3 floors (one completely empty), and huge rooms with just a bed in them. It felt strange to have to use a sofa bed when there was extra bedrooms and extra space in them, it would have been better to have the living space as just that and not one of the bedrooms. We had to put away one of the beds each time we sat together and had nowhere to hang clothes up and get dressed etc. for one of our party

Unit itself is fine but there are some area of concerns for us. Cons : 1. Lift is not working throughout our whole stay. We have to carry our big luggage up 2 steep, narrow and long flight of stairs. If there are elderly and the lift is not working then this unit will be a real concern 2. Sound proofing is not good, we are woken up quite a few time by the noise upstairs 3. At night, there will be people sitting on the stairs smoking cannibis, we always make it a point not to go back too late at night. 4. Windows cannot to open at all. No fresh air coming into the unit. Pros: 1. Unit size is great 2. Unit interior condition quite well kept and clean 3. Great water pressure 4. Location is good.
