Scandic Ørnen

Originally got put in a room facing the main road/ parking lot and it was terribly noisy even with the windows shut. We were then able to move to another room on the same floor but there was no view. The room was a bit dirty, the tv did not work (no streaming, only the news channel worked, and you have to pay to use the screen mirror service on the TV). There was no fitted sheet on the bed and the mattress was just a topper and extremely thin, you only got one pillow each, and the duvet was stained dark red on one half end. Every one in the staff was very nice but I would never stay here again.

This was a great base for us to spend 3 nights in Bergen before boarding the Havila ship for its northbound voyage. The ambience of the hotel and friendly staff provided a warm introduction to Scandinavia.

I was given incorrect breakfast hours at check-in but the kitchen staff was very nice to help out.

Close to station. Room is clean and good size. We can comfortably leave our bags open.

Beautiful clean hotel …Fantastic breakfast (one of best ever) huge choice of healthy well presented food extremely friendly helpful staff only thing I would criticise is the lack of bright lights in bedrooms , only 3 hangers in wardrobe and a serious lack of sockets in right places ( had to have kettle on floor as no socket anywhere near it

The hotel is right by the Bergen bus station and its car park. However, about a 3 minute walk away is a beautiful park and the Kode art gallery. The light railway from the airport stops at the bus station. The breakfast is ample and the staff are very friendly and courteous. The hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from Bryggen. However, the rooms are fairly basic. Though clean, there are no extras. The bathroom is very basic too. The rooms are quite dark. Not cosy. Needs modernising or refurbishing. The rest of the hotel is modern, bright and welcoming. I didn’t like the rooms. But the staff, breakfast and rest of the property were great.

Excellent hotel near to train station and tram stop to airport. Rooms lovely and clean and breakfast was gorgeous. Staff friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Convenient location to all transportation. Walking distance to harbor, Brugge, castle, etc. AMAZING breakfast and for ~$10 you can make a lunch to take away.

We had booked on Expedia for 2 children’s and 2 adults. Children age was 12 and 17. At check in we were advised that 17 yr old is not child as per Scandic and we would have to pay extra charges. However I tried to make another booking infront of the staff meme we using 17 and 12 ages and the booking price was actually cheaper than what I had booked for. So in the end they honoured my original booking with out extra charges. Expedia should ensure the criteria for different hotels is reflected in their bookings

Location is great, walkable to all the main attractions. good balance of food, sightseeing and shopping. close to the central station. Complimentary Breakfast is decent and reasonable hotel rates.

We enjoyed our stay at Scandic Ørnen, and our selections above reflect our satisfaction. Two things happened, one fairly minor, one of more importance to us. Minor - a male reception staff member had a lengthy conversation with a female who appeared to be a hotel customer. As I speak Norwegian, it was easy to determine this was not about hotel business. I stood nearby clearly waiting for my turn to ask a question that was about something related to customer service. After at least 5 minutes, I gave up. Important (to us) - lack of washcloths. We are accustomed to using washcloths, and had not previously encountered this. When we asked, we were offered additional hand towels. We took the towels, and made do. This policy flys in the face of Scandic’s stated concern for the environment, and causes your customers unnecessary inconvenience and a bit of embarrassment. At the very least, washcloths should be offered upon request.
