As they are connecting flights, these flights tend to take longer than a direct flight would; typical flight duration ranges from 9 ½ hours to 11 ½ hours.

Public Transportations Available

Thankfully, the city is equipped with a well-established public transportation network to facilitate the residents and visitors of the city. These modes of public transport have managed to reduce the commute time from one part of the city to another, while ensuring that the fares remain affordable. The major modes of public transport in Lahore include bus services and metro trains.

Lahore Metro Bus System

The Lahore Metro Bus System (MBS) is a bus rapid transit system that runs from Gajju Matah to Shahdara through Ferozepor Road. The route is serviced by more than 60 18-metre long buses, running between 27 stations. To further improve the accessibility of MJS throughout Lahore, there is also an extensive network of feeder bus routes that are connected to the main route. The feeder buses are air-conditioned and have 28 seats, with around 10 seats reserved especially for women. The buses are available from 6:00am to 11:00pm. You can consider getting a Metrobus card for easier travelling as you won’t have to stand in line to purchase a ticket for every journey.

Local buses

Operated by the Lahore Transport Company, these local bus services interconnect with the Metrobus stations to provide a seamless transportation system for visitors to commute around the various attractions in the city. These buses do not have a fixed cost per trip. The amount charged depends on the route taken and distance travelled.

Metro

The Lahore Metro is a rapid transit system that is under construction. The first of its 3 lines, the Orange Line will span across a distance of 27 kilometres, consisting of 26 stations. Running from North to South, the first stop will be Dera Gujran and the final stop will be at Ali Town.

Throughout the course of its history, Lahore has been controlled by numerous empires including the Ghaznavids, the Mughal Empire, and the Durrani Empire. Lahore Fort

The Lahore Fort is a citadel located at the northern end of walled city Lahore and covers an area of over 20 hectares. The fort contains 21 notable monuments, including the Shah Burj Quadrangle which houses the Naulakha Pavilion, Picture Wall, Sheesh Mahal, and the Summer Palace. Lahore Museum
