Mediocre

This hotel was conveniently located and the hotel itself looks impressive from the outside. We stayed in a family suite which is in more of a motel-type building behind the parking lot. The room was spacious, but felt like it needed updating. The water pressure in the shower was not great and the water temperature was pretty inconsistent - the first morning (very early) I had a cold shower, the second day (later in the morning) it was just warm enough, and on the third day it was a good temperature for me, but my husband's shower wasn't hot enough. There were ants in the suite. They provide the makings for tea and hot chocolate in the room, which was really nice, but when the cleaning service came in they did not switch out our dirty hot chocolate mugs and spoons for clean ones. There are no fridges in the rooms; however, the staff were happy to store some food we bought, for a day trip the next day, in the hotel fridge overnight which was really nice. Our door would not lock on our first day and a repair person was called and there within 10 minutes. So service was good when you approached with a problem, and front desk staff was friendly. We had the breakfast buffet on our last day and it was excellent! The pool was also a really nice feature and we used it twice. It was quiet and safe and we had a pleasant stay.

Dated decor, needs upgrading. Had to get window fixed so it would shut, it was done promptly!

Hotel accommodation and staff was very good. Unfortunately although the menu was really good for evening dinner. The meal was a reheat .staff disappeared after serving the dinner which was quite frustrating as they took our cutlery. Desert was poor once we fiund staff and no tea or coffee offered

Shower barely made it to luke warm, room smelt musty and was cold. Room looked like a youth retreat and outside area of ‘back of hotel’ . TV would not connect to Wifi

Upon our arrival to the hotel, at first glance, it seemed promising. Greeted by the subtle conversation of customers and the extravagant decor. After checking in, we were directed to behind the main building hotel to a car park in front of a row of decrepit apartment-like buildings - possibly old council properties. With further inspection, we found that the advertisement for the hotel did not entail anything like this. The ‘garden’ outside of the room, amongst the parked cars, was decorated with black garden chairs and a glass table which contradicted the theme of the hotel. When putting the key in the keyhole, the door seemed loose and poorly built, almost like a shed door. Yet again, the room inside contradicted the theme of the hotel, the gold objects looking ‘hand painted’. We complained to the manager and requested a room within the building and we compromised on complimentary breakfast for our stay as the hotel was fully booked. The breakfast, however, was shocking. We opted for mini pastries and bread. The bread was good. The second morning, being hungry first thing, we attempted breakfast again but found that although the lovely staff were trying very hard the products were simply substandard. Due to this we ate elsewhere on the last day. The coffee was in a large container and watery. Kettle was leaking in our room and had to request change twice. Staff trying hard but the refurbishments needed are vast. As a professional family this was a disturbing experience.

Our room was very spacious and a great bed. Bathroom was pretty good and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast menu selection was good hot and cold available with multiple options. The dinner service wasn’t up to standard unfortunately. The staff were great but wait times from the kitchen not satisfactory.

Lovely hotel, we had a sea view room and it was well worth the extra, big room with superb view of the loch. Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast excellent and it is in a perfect location, great value for money! Would recommend

This is the third occasion we have visited your hotel and it has always been a very pleasant experience.The staff are very friendly and helpful.The room was excellent and the food was very good.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff on Reception were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The twin beds were comfy and the room well supplied with toiletries. Its so nice to be in a hotel where we can adjust the heating too. The room was at the back and nice and quiet and only a short walk into the centre of Oban.The only criticism I had was the shower which was just about warm, despite running the water for 5 minutes.

The hotel is run down and in need of an upgrade. I stayed in a Junior Suite, I thought for extra comfort and luxury. The room is dated and cold, I had to request an extra heater and blankets. The window seals are all shot - I appreciate the room was on the front, but the wind noise and draft were terrible. The bathroom only had an electric towel heater, it was freezing and the window would have been aswell left open, again useless. The was pool was still closed - the water temperature was to cold - The breakfast was ok and the staff were pleasant - the only bonus was the free parking.

All staff were very friendly & helpful, room was a bit dated but clean , comfy bed & pillows , dinner & breakfast was very nice.

An absolutely disgrace of the service! We arrived on saturday 7th of december to find out that the hotel is closed till end of January. There was only a wee note on the front door with some contact number to call so we did. They relocated us to another hotel muthu oban regent hotel which is not at all what we have booked. Apparently we should get an email ealier about this but i never got anything. After a stay i was trying to get any compensation for the inconvenience but we got declined as this hotel is 'better' standard. Luck of pool, car park you name it...but this is better... Stay away from if you want to enjoy yoir holidays in Oban
