Hotel Janaki

The room I got in very poor condition, it was my second time in this hotel. Very unstable WIFI system, bathroom is dirty, water in the toilet didn't work, curtain dirty, bed sheets & pillow cases not up to standard. Although staff is ok, friendly. I should say, breakfast is ok to Sri Lankan standard, no fruits was available. On my last day breakfast, I got little bit of fruits. I don't recommend this hotel to any one for their stay

I had a great couple of nights at Hotel Janaki. The room had all the amenities you would want and the staff was courteous and helped me with booking a cab. I would recommend this hotel

Need some renovations with face lifting

This place has a lot to improve on, although the staff is very friendly. The restaurant needs to have the items available on the menu. When a guest sits for dinner, he/she should not be told that some major items are not available! Whatever the food that was available was quite tasty and the cooks must be commended. They would not serve a pot of tea on room service! Early morning, there was no chance of having tea in the room. Rooms are very spacious but the bed is not good. A new plush mattress will be great to have. Bathrooms were in very poor condition with mould growing in multiple places. Bathtub was chipped and the metal underneath was showing! Very limited linen was provided- just 2 bath towels only. There was no hot water in the shower. The windows in the room could not be locked-lucky I was on the 2nd floor! The interior must be re-done with decent furniture as the cushions are flat! Public areas get dunked when it rains. Every morning the staff has to mop and get rid of a river of water in the center area. At the front, there is some cement barrier that needs to be removed. It is a major obstacle for cars entering the property. There is ample parking opposite the property.

They make you feel at home and that’s so important and service is so good and rooms need updating now but it’s great value for the money paid

I reserved for eight days but stayed only two days. Absolutely this is not a 3 star hotel at all. Room: Some kind of odor, bad smell, pillows are very hard and the bed is terrible. Wall paint are falling apart.. No electric outlets to charge phone or tablets Bathroom: Only two old towels, no hand towels or wash clothes. The shower door is half closed. Hence, half of the water pour on to the floor., No electric outlet for shaver View: Roof tops only, can hear nearby neighbors scream Breakfast: Very good, staff will come and ask again and again your room number. Each day three times. .

It was a budget bundle to stay in Hotel Janaki.

Extremely disappointed

The room was not so fresh, smelly and dark. Small TV and the Wifi just worked in same places in the room. The hotel service was nice, even if its not the fastest.

arrived late at night after a long travel and on arrival, was asked to wait in the lounge for over half an hour and later came to know that the hotel was full for the night. the front desk staff was very rude and was blaming his manager saying that it was his mistake that the hotel was not blocked on the website. after sometime we were told that he was assigning us to a room that had a morning arrival. during the two day stay, the room was not cleaned and towels was not changed. the whole place is in a very bad repair state. the state of cleanliness was really bad in the room . . . . :(

Verdens beste hotell . Jeg ble overrasket. Dette er en 6 stjerne hotell. Frokost luksus me mange mat. De leverer te på bord. Ikke bare det . De steker egg leverer . Service på 100%. Dette er ikke 3 stjerne hotell. Dette er 6 stjerne .

Very helpful and very friendly staff. This hotel is a bit away from the city centre (busstations and Fort Railway station). It takes about 15 minutes by tuk tuk. You can also go here by public bus. I think it was bus number 178. It was fun using the public bus down to the city centre. Swimming pool and breakfast was nice at the hotel.
