Hotel Continental

The picture of the room on the internet was different than the room I received. I paid extra money for a room with a king bed. The room I received had 2 twin beds pushed together. I complained I hour after I checked in. The manager said that is the way they do business. I said you are lying and misrepresenting your property. I paid when I checked in, 1 hour before I saw the bedding. I asked for my money back so I could leave and go to a different property. She said no, I won’t give you your money back. I asked her to let me speak to the general manager. She said that was not possible because the general manager had the day off. I said that’s ridiculous, it is my day off and I am on vacation. You are ruining my vacation. I said that they should move me to a new room. Besides the bedding, the room was different than the photos, the noise from the adjoining room was loud, the lighting was poor. The room looked like a prison cell, not a room in a luxury hotel that costs $400/ night. After more discussion she finally agreed to move me to a different room in another property that this company owned. This room still had the same twin beds, no king bed. The thermostat in the bathroom near the towel rack was broken. It was always cold in the bathroom. I complained immediately and they said that they would send a tech to check it out. The explanation I received was the room/ bathroom was too hot that is why the thermostat was not going on. This was another lie. They did nothing.

Excellent property!

The location was great. Close to the train station and the Main Street. Plenty of shops and food near by. Everything is within walking distance. The hotel is clean and so are the rooms. We stayed one night and found it to be perfect. They have a really good breakfast and it is staffed by a very sweet lady. I’d definitely stay there again and recommend it to a friend. The views are nice from the balcony and it’s off the main road in a courtyard which keeps the noise down. It has an elevator which is a plus.

Great location and superb staff. I was upgraded to the parent hotel next door, Hotel Simi. Comfortable and always spotless clean. Desk staff helpful and professional. Would stay again.

We had a clean room. Efficiently cleaned, with all our needs including a refrigerator. Breakfast was also good, with plenty of options and friendly staff.

Quiet clean hotel with free breakfast

The hotel is centrally located in the town, quiet and convenient. However, we don't like this hotel at all. There was no reception desk in the hotel, and we were instructed to go to another hotel for check-in. The beds in the room were terrible, which was only 1 foot above the ground. Other furniture was so old and in poor condition. The sofa looked like the one from garage sale. In addition, the breakfast was not good. So we won't use it again if we come visit Zermatt in the future.

WASHBASIN NOT WORKING PROPERLY

Very conveniently located. Loved having a patio. Breakfast was very good. Clean and great bathroom.

Great place to stay.

No body at reception, just a sign to go to another hotel. Booked 2 rooms. Paid same price for each room. They were nothing a like, 1 reasonable size the other, absolutely no where to put lugggage, had to put on the floor in front of the door, so couldn’t go out without putting suitcase on the bed. Bathroom so old!!! Shower over a very deep bath. Definitely not recommend

It was a little tight and had no air con and no fridge.

Beds and pillows are really bad

Great budget hotel just off the center of Zermatt. We had a nice (albeit tight) balcony with a glimpse of The Matterhorn. The room was clean but unfortunately no air conditioning and it was quite warm in the room. There’s a refrigerator which was very convenient. Stepping into the shower isn’t designed for short people which was a bit awkward. We had to check in at another hotel, but it was only steps away. Would stay here again for convenience and cleanliness.
