Novotel Bern was a solid choice for our stay, especially for its convenience and overall comfort. The hotel is located right on a tram line, which made getting around Bern very easy, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The property was also clean and well-maintained, which we appreciated. A few practical notes for future guests: we didn’t try the breakfast, so can’t comment on it. Food and drinks at the hotel are quite expensive, which is typical for Switzerland but still worth planning for. The bar area is pleasant for a short stop, though somewhat limited in selection and atmosphere. Room size may be a consideration for families—while functional, the configurations (either a queen with a sofa bed or two twins with a sofa bed) felt a bit tight for four people. One disappointment was a restaurant recommendation from the concierge. It was presented as a classic Swiss experience, but turned out to be both overpriced and underwhelming—the biggest letdown of our time in Bern. It’s worth doing a bit of independent research before committing to dining suggestions. Overall, Novotel Bern is a reliable, well-located option, particularly for short stays or travelers prioritizing easy transport access.

Lovely, clean and friendly hotel. Tram right outside to get you to the centre in 10 minutes. If you have a room facing the tram stop, can be noisy at night and did disturb my sleep.

Wonderful hotel, service, location

Internet was problematic, disconnected many times. No proper heating in rooms. Very light flow of water in shower.

I was very pleased with the hotel itself. It was clean. It had everything that we needed. We had breakfast in the morning and we were treated incredibly well by the host Elizabeth and we got also to meet the chef Roman absolutely wonderful people. I will definitely recommend this to all my family and friends and I will be back next year.

Generally ok except that no eateries nearby and have to travel out to the old town.

Newer hotel rooms kept well and clean. Convenient location next to a light rail/tram station. I will definitely be back.
