Ruby Mimi Zurich

Location is the best. It cannot get any better than this. It’s right around the corner from Zurich main Tran station and easy access to the river and lake. Small room but clean and sufficient for our day trip in the city.

Extremely small room. Be mindful of the corners of the bed they extend from the mattress and have sharp edges. The bed is lodged in the corner with the only place for luggage on the opposite side. I did some major damage to my shin getting my luggage to the opposite side.

We booked nest rooms and upon check in, the person told us they are on the 6th floor with a pitched roof. We asked about the next level room -comfort- and opted to upgrade. This room was more of a standard room. Small but no pitch. If you opt in for no housekeeping, you get two free drinks. We were only there 2 nights, so we did that. Right across the street from train station and walking distance to old town. Staff was nice and helpful.

Our window shade was broken, and when trying to go to bed early, this was a problem. Was also disappointed there was no instant coffee or hot water pot.

Favourable addition to Geneva and very spacious room. Wonderful breakfast with plenty on offer for GF and Lactose free. Freshly made coffee to go too! Service excellent as were all the team. Excellent Location and highly recommended

Great hotel, great location.

I hate the minimal air conditioning thing in Europe, I don't understand why progressives are obsessed with being miserable. Property and staff were nice, but over $600 USD was ridiculous. Started the movie in the included theater, but it just shut down half way through.

Love the people who work there. Very friendly and helpful. It's a great hotel in a wonderful and beautiful part of Zurich.

Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating, we were allowed to check in early!

Cosy room is cozy but we were only there one night so really didn’t need much space. Location is perfect!

Self check in is a bad process especially after long day from traveling - there is no phones in the rooms to call down. The two drinks for no clean service is ridiculous. AC is terrible in the rooms. They have you leave towels in the hall way. Location is great however.

Staff was excellent!! Very helpful and supportive room was ok but small. Old movie theater they turned into a hotel. Cool vibe.

I stayed at Ruby Mimi Hotel Zurich by IHG in late April, and overall I felt the value was nowhere near commensurate with the cost per night. The room was marketed as “cosy,” but in practice it felt extremely claustrophobic. There was barely any space between the end of the bed and the wall, creating a narrow passageway. At one point, my travel companion tripped and fell due to the tight squeeze. Second, the room lacked basic amenities that you would reasonably expect at this price. There was no kettle and no mini fridge in the room. When I asked reception for a kettle, I was directed to the bar staff. I was told the only way to get hot drinking water was to retrieve it from floors 1–4, but I was staying on the 5th floor—so they declined to provide a kettle. Having to walk up and down multiple flights of stairs just to make tea is inconvenient at best, and at times feels like a potential health and safety issue. I also spoke with another guest who had faced a similar frustration, including having to go to other floors to retrieve items (such as ice) for drinks. For a hotel charging a premium rate in a major city, these are fundamental issues. I would not recommend this hotel based on the combination of the room layout and the lack of basic in-room amenities.

The room was extremely small. I booked a king-size bedroom, and I got a queen. They were “transitioning” in their system, and basically you have to check in yourself and even make your own key. There are no phones in the room, so you can’t call the front desk. The bar has good drinks but expensive. The bed was very uncomfortable. The shower/toilet is ridiculous. No privacy at all.

Poor communication, lacking services, exploitative business practices. I booked two separate stays a few days apart and inquired whether I could store luggage at the property in between the two. They told me that wasn't possible, which was surprising, but ok. That was necessary for my itinerary so I requested a cancellation. They told me over the phone they would approve, so I submitted the cancellation and booked at another property. However they proceeded to reject the cancellation and then stopped answering my emails.

Great location and wonderful ambience. 10/10 recommend as a spot in Zurich.
