Overall, the hotel was a pleasant stay. A few inconveniences were non-working fridge in unit and the AC was not working properly either. Make sure to park in the open parking lot on Central and 9th. The parking garages is more expensive and you have to pay each time you enter the garage.

I asked room service to come back a bit later as we were still in the room. They did not come back. I requested clean towels and coffee/ creamer refills for the next day TWICE in two separate phone calls hours apart. Nothing was sent. Rooms are nice and spacious, area is nice but not having clean towels is unacceptable.

- Room carpets were covered with stains - Window shade fell off window - Housekeeping came, but did not make the bed. None of my belongings were on the bed. WTH? - I was not informed of the resort credit. I only knew about it because of info Expedia sent. - Housekeeping knocked on my door at 7:30am. Way too early in the morning to disturb someone. Disappointing experience.

This is a beautiful hotel within walking distance to many downtown sites. I loved the friendly service, the artistry and the gems I found whilst walking around the neighborhood. (Public Library, River Walk, Convention Center.) I would gladly stay there again.

Great front desk staff!

We have stay this hotel in the past and loved it. I guess since we last stayed here they were under new management and everything just seemed worse. They used to have artwork over the hotel but that is now gone. Front desk was ok but just didn’t seem to care. Housekeeping only came by once but at 9am on the first day of our stay before we had left and never came back. They had valet service with a website that lets you request your car but no one seemed to monitor it. They used to have a filtered water machine to fill water bottles but that was replaced by a normal water fountain. The one thing about the hotel that has remained great is the restaurant/bar. Food was really good and the drinks were some of the best we had in KC. Overall just a disappointing stay.

Front desk staff was very polite. Expedia app states we were to have a $15 resort credit per room & could ask for a room upgrade. I asked about both of those but was not given an answer…so if we had a credit we didn’t know & if there was a room upgrade option we weren’t given it nor informed if it wasn’t available. Both rooms were clean and with nice bathroom amenities (robe etc). One of our rooms had a sulphur smell that while we were out grew in stench. The hotel did send someone up quickly to work on the sink & stated that with old buildings the pipes easily clog. Smell did improve. Parking garage right across hotel that is $15 per day. Easy walk (2 blocks) to KC Streetcar. When we booked the hotel it was owned by Museum 21 (which we were looking forward to) but in the time spanned before we arrived it was bought by Hilton ..so museum is gone!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was great. But the hotel is worn down and definitely needs renovation. Our room smelled of sewer and the water pressure was horrible. The carpet, furniture and fixtures are dated and frayed.

Me and my Husband stayed for our honeymoon and it was wonderful! The room was clean, the beds were comfy, and the service was wonderful. I am very glad we decided to stay here!

The property is no longer unique. The art, the decor, and the inclusive decor, like the PENGUINS is gone. Hilton made the special basic. Last time we visit.

Sexy sleek hotel with delicious restaurant. all staff are very friendly, room was huge, and they worked with us on pet and parking fees. Hilton just acquired it. Best deal around

Everyone on the staff that we interacted with was all so nice and helpful. I loved that I got a text asking how my stay was throughout the visit and to shoot them a text if I needed food recommendations nearby. We loved our room too! We'd been on a road trip for over a week, and this hotel was our last stop before we made the official trek back home. The fact that it was SO quiet and chill was an absolute gift. The bed was extremely comfy as well! The onsite bar is as good as the other reviews say too. The selection is top-notch. I got their Library Card cocktail, and it was wonderful! I will say that personally, we found their dinner menu to be a little expensive and lacking in variety and ended up opting to get Clustertruck delivered. Otherwise, everything was simply perfect. Should we need to stay in Kansas City again, this will be one of our first choices!

It was an amazing stay, but the coffee pot didn’t work nor did the room phone to call down to the front desk. When called, front desk said I could pay for a cup of coffee through room service. Should have been accommodated without a fee.
