This was the absolute BEST hotel my husband and I have ever stayed at! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and it was clear that they took pride in their work. The room was impeccably clean- not a speck of dust anywhere! Having a functional shower that didn’t flood the bathroom, liquid soap, and an actual bathroom door that closed were nice perks too (as silly as those may sound). My husband and I loved the continental breakfast as well- it was perfect in the mornings! I also loved that the coffee machine was always available for use- we certainly got a lot of use out of it as it was quite chilly when we were visiting the area! My husband and I absolutely plan on staying here again someday, and we recommend it to everyone!

Sunset inn was perfect for our mini vacation just before 4th of July. It's located in Pacific Grove right by Asilomar walking distance to the beach. Very quiet and beautiful. We arrived just few minutes before check-in time. We're able to get our key almost right away though the room itself was not ready yet. The management team was very helpful and friendly. We're able to park our car right across our room. The little cottage is very dainty. It's fairly equipped with microwave, mini frig, fireplace. Bathroom is a bit small & lack of counter space. Overall a beautiful place and easy drive to Monterey, Carmel as well.

The staff were all VERY friendly and the room was clean. Easy walk to tide pools. Loved the deer we saw!! Parking was the only issue as there were not many spots and in the evenings it was hard to park in small areas.

Nice stay at the Sunset Inn. Very clean. Friendly staff. Room was nicely updated and maintained. The common areas are super clean and very maintained. The only thing that was slightly disappointing was the free breakfast, would have liked to see better fruit selection like cut melon and a pastry or coffee cake instead of donuts. Overall, great place and we will definitely be back!!

Pros: Clean room, nice bathroom and close to walking trails on the beach
Cons: Smaller room than expected, light all night, bed and sheets were not comfortable, noisy (could hear people’s conversation in the next room very clearly). Office/lobby very cluttered and messy, poor selection at breakfast, and no Wi-Fi or cell service.

Rishi was very helpful and super polite. Snacks were provided throughout the day in the front office including flavored water, tea and coffee. Parking is limited and that is the only downside. Apart from parking, I would definitely stay here again.

Staff friendliness was great! Facility should expand to have a bigger parking lot. WiFi was also quite intermittent but that's pretty much everywhere in urban areas like Monterey Bay.

Both shower and jetted tub were excellent. The fire was nice even in June for those of us from the South. The bed was very comfortable and the cabin was very quiet. Yhe continental breakfast had more, and varied, options.

We had a great stay at this inn! From the moment we arrived, the property manager Rishi was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He even let us tour three different queen rooms and pick our favorite. All were clean, but we chose the one upstairs that felt a bit more spacious.
The location is excellent—less than a 10-minute walk to the beach and a short drive to the beautiful Lover’s Point Park. The bed was moderately comfortable, just fine for a short stay.
The only downside was the lack of soundproofing. The listing on Expedia mentioned soundproof rooms, but that wasn’t really the case. Most mornings, we could hear nearby construction work clearly through the walls, and one night we heard a family next door with young kids. It wasn’t a huge issue, but something to be aware of if you’re a light sleeper.
Overall, it was a great value for the price, and we’d happily stay here again!
